Was able to route any% on console with Orc by practicing each section individually, which means that most of the run is doable (for Mzark Tower wall, just bucket through, for Skuldafn just jump on the cliff on the left). However, can't seem to get the marriage glitch to work... it just goes through with the ceremony regardless. Need help figuring it out. And eventually if it doesn't work I'll have to start practicing the run with slow dragonrend and council, which sucks but I really don't want to give up on any% just yet, since saving Mzark glitch is a huge time save. Feedback is extremely appreciated.
Just started working on any% today, will need lots of help. Council will probably be unskipable, not sure if the waits will help much (will work on it and post results). Haven't tried loadwarps, but I doubt they'll work. Also, problems with duplicating Dragonbane and Mzark skip (keeps pushing me upwards as I wiggle). Basically console routing is hell, but enjoyable. Update soon.
Quick question. Are the console runs doable? Or are they unrealistically long and hard? Haven't seen a run of this game yet but sounds interestingly enough to want to find out more.
Just got a 46mins on console Thieves Guild (without loads), so it's totally doable, albeit harder. There are strats, but some runs just seem too hard or worthless (looking at you companions, a bit tedious). For anyone running console, email me at Reno.Saoko@gmail.com, would love to discuss console running (and work on any %, even with Council).
Oh, and just figured out how to jump the Ratway bridge without a bucket jump, hard but looks awesome. XD
Just got my first PB in a run, a 1:11:26 in Thieves Guild (with horrible load times and unskipable cutscenes), it's one of the most consistent runs on console so far. It's exciting, although sad that I didn't record it (soon, hopefully). Will update on other runs as I try them out. XD It also includes a weird glitch, useless but fun. When you talk to Karliah after Mercer kills you, the blurry effect continues because of the Sanctum Skip. If you wait a bit after talking to Enthir, the effect wears off, but I was going fast and didn't wait, so I traveled to the stables to go to Markarth. The blur effect continued, and it skipped the getting on the carriage animation, which seemed weird. It got worse. When I get to Markarth stables, the camera is locked in third person but looking downwards, forced, and I can't run forward (because it's forced at an angle towards the floor). I couldn't get to the Keep. Had to load autosave (safety strat, plus console freezes are still a thing)... Had a good laugh.
Thanks, wondering if it'll work on my smartphone, have no pc at the moment (hence, running console). Also, is bucket/item jumping doable in console? If not, will have to route without it.
Got it, and thank you for answering so quickly. Any advice on which timer to utilize? Have no idea.
Hello everyone, a speedrunning noob here hoping the console (Xbox 360) community is alive and active. Noticed that the only category with actual records is any%, which motivates me even more to participate. Got lots of questions, but would appreciate tips, suggestions and any type of input first. FYI, only tried any% glitchless legendary (so much work left to do) and thieves guild (which I was able to complete without timing, no idea how to do splits without a pc or laptop, which I don't have... IGT was 1h31mins though). Hoping to read your comments soon. XD
