Hello everyone,
it's honestly long overdue, but we are updating the Boss Rush timing to use the system that was used in the PS4 version for years already.
The system is a lot better to measure a run's quality, since it gets rid of any inconsistencies due to hardware load times (like SSDs).
You can read the details in the rules, but calculating the IGT remains voluntary on submission. The moderation team will automatically convert the runs to IGT. Make sure future submission have clearly visible individual times and reset times.
All old leaderboard times will be converted by moderation today. If there is missing video or the video quality isnt up to standard the run will remain on the leaderboard but at the bottom without IGT. Those runners can reach out to us and provide a video if they wish to do so.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
To add to this, I would recommend anyone who is at all interested in emulator runs, to join the discord and submit a time to this test run leaderboard. The activity on it might determine if we add it to src in the future. If you guys have any questions feel free to DM me. It is recommended to communicate through our discord server though.
Hey Potatoe,
there is a rule on this site where if your run is pending for more than 3 weeks and you tried contacting the moderators without success on other social media you can request moderation for the leaderboard. It used to be a forum thread but maybe it uses the ticket system now. I used to be in contect with one of the mods and she at least used to be available on discord. Hope this helps! You shouldnt just accept that your run isnt verified even though unfortunately it tends to happen for smaller or more obscure games.
We also finally found the way to do the 14s Valus now after all this time :)
Join the discord and watch some guides for colossus skips. You should practise the skips in the ng+ timed fights and you can compare them to the level times here on the site (You can also watch the top times to get an idea how a colossus can be done, tho some of the strats used are very inconsitent. If you want to run the full game watch distortion's run. He uses mostly consistent strats). Some minor details that are kinda important: hold the stab button whenever you stab. That makes the stabs faster. Switching to the hand before going to a sigil also makes the first stab faster. Definitely pay close attention to the positioning before you stab. There are so called "plants", that stop the shaking and make stabbing without interruption possible. For more questions definitely use the discord, because I feel like you get a quicker answer that way.
