The reason Emulator runs are banned is because of inconsistent load times. We should subtract loading times from runs so that Emulators can be used. This will allow more people to run the game.

One thing I don't like about multilogging strats is how much more it will limit what hardware people will be able to speedrun the game on. Some of OSRS's strongest appeal is that it's a game which can run on very low specs PCs. Requiring players to multiclient can cause lots of lagg and will deter players from speedrunning this game. The additional setup required to get enough accounts in position to die for you at a specific time will make resets more annoying and further deter players from speedrunning this game.

Should we allow multilogging strats?

Current multilogging strats people are considering: -Lighting fires on alt account to get ashes without waiting thought of by Phantaesm -Alts dying at wizard tower so you can get bones without killing chickens thought of by Phantaesm -Certificate glitch discovered by EZScape to do Arrav in under a minute

Putting f2p and p2p runs on the same leaderboard is very confusing and discouraging to new players (especially those who don't already play RS and only want to approach it as a speedgame.) If we acknowledge them as two separate runs then we should give them two separate categories.

There's lots of things that would benefit p2p ironman in nobeads%. Just look at the current nobeads% wr and its use of poison. A f2p ironman can't cheese strong enemies with that.

Allowing both f2p and p2p accounts participate in the same category gives a significant advantage to p2p accounts because they have access to more content. I'm suggesting that the current nobeads% category should be split into f2p nobeads% and p2p nobeads% or p2p nobeads% be removed altogether because it will have very few runners and runs will be extremely costly.

If nobeads% allows members' worlds then you'd have to use a bond every time you reset which can cost a lot of money. It will also deter players from wanting to run it if they don't already have a well established main on OSRS. I propose that nobeads% be f2p only to encourage more people to run it.

imo only the official Jagex client should be allowed for runs.

I have added a new category for OSRS. The rules: -Timer starts upon clicking "Accept" on tutorial island. -Timer ends upon entering the Champion's guild.

-Account type must be ironman.

Discussion points: -Are players allowed to use different clients (i.e. OSBuddy vs Official Client) -Should the Shield of Arrav skip be allowed? () -How should we do timing? OSRS operates on .6 second ticks and ideally we could use 3rd party software to count the number of ticks that occur between clicking "accept" and entering the champion's guild.

Shield of Arrav is an extremely trivial quest to complete. Removing it as a requirement for nobeads% would shave about two minutes off the run and remove the need for multilogging. Some potential runners might lack PC specs to efficiently multilog for passing over the certificate halves. Arrav hurts the run much more than it helps the run and should not be included in nobeads%

You'd have to prove that you were on the first step of each clue. I could easily do a few steps of a hard clue and then claim that my hard clue was on first step and I got really good RNG. I think for RuneScape to be taken seriously as a speedgame there should be multiple competitive categories where the only requirement is the ability to create a new ironman account. Having to buy a bond for every reset if you want to get a good time would deter over 90% of people who might consider running OSRS.

nobeads% f2p and nobeads% p2p are two very different runs and should be considered different categories. In the future there will be interested in runescape only as a speedgame who will be discouraged if they can't get a "good time" in certain categories because they don't play the game casually and can't afford bonds.
