Zericc,
I've already addressed this matter publicly, and I've been clear from the start about my reasons for stepping away. I've always communicated with honesty and respect, and at no point I did make fun of you.
Your portrayal of events is inaccurate, and I stand by what I've posted. The truth is there for anyone to see.
Statement Regarding my Withdrawal from the Moderator Transition
I want to publicly clarify why I am stepping away from the involvement in the proposed moderator transition for Solar Jetman.
I Initially agreed to help and support a change, based on the idea of moving forward respectfully after prior conflict. However, I never committed to a specific timeline, and I was transparent from the beginning about my personal obligations - balancing family, work, and study.
Despite this, Zericc repeatedly pressured me with increasingly accusatory and manipulative language, framing my honesty and boundaries as intentional harm. His final message made it clear that any remaining goodwill had eroded. He insisted that continued communication made him uncomfortable, while implying that I was deliberately delaying the process - ignoring the good faith and clarity I had consistently shown.
At this point, it's no longer possible for me to continue. I will not be involved in any moderator changes for this game moving forward. My intention was to help and create a more balanced and respectful environment, but I cannot do that while being treated this way.
I hold no ill will toward the community or those uninvolved in this conflict. I simply want the truth be known so that others can form their own understanding, and so that I can leave with my integrity intact.
To make things clear, this is what we discussed;
We came to an agreement, good.
Second, this happened; literally 1 day later;
I will put this in PDF format later. But for now:
Response to Zericc’s Appeal to the Solar Jetman Community

Introduction
I have read Zericc’s appeal regarding moderation and community involvement for Solar Jetman: Hunt for the Golden Warpship. While I appreciate his passion and investment in the game, I believe his document contains key mischaracterizations that I respectfully wish to clarify. My goal is not to win an argument, but to ensure the truth is documented and the community is supported in a transparent, respectful, and collaborative way.
Shared Vision
Like Zericc, I want what’s best for the Solar Jetman speedrunning community. I am fully in support of new strategies, updated knowledge, and welcoming new runners. I retired from active speedrunning years ago, but I’ve remained as a moderator to maintain structure, archive knowledge, and assist when possible. I do not wish to dominate, only to collaborate.
About the Double-Warp
To be absolutely clear: I have never accused Zericc of cheating, nor used that word in any context. In fact, I changed the category to reflect the double-warp once it became apparent it was a viable strategy. My original concerns were about clarity and verifiability, not legitimacy. I applauded the warp publicly and privately.
Our early discussions show my willingness to understand the warp and work together to define new standards. I even said I was “excited” about it, not annoyed or threatened. The fact that this is now reframed as sabotage or dismissal is simply untrue.
Breakdown of Communication
Zericc reached out in a mature way initially, and I appreciated that. I replied in kind, clarified I never accused him of cheating, and showed openness to community collaboration. I also respected his request for a cooling-off period—even stating clearly that I would not engage further.
Unfortunately, this message was later cited as a violation of that boundary, despite being a single, respectful line. After this, Zericc made multiple changes to the speedrun.com board without consensus—something I objected to not out of spite, but because proper process matters when handling a community leaderboard.
The changes I made afterward were discussed with another community member, yet Zericc reverted them unilaterally and then removed himself entirely from the board. That decision was his.
On Personal Attacks and Streams
It is painful to see a situation where trying to help is framed as harassment. I did not go on stream to insult anyone. However, I was referred to on Zericc’s stream indirectly in a negative tone. I responded by showing some of our conversations so others could judge the context for themselves.
My intent was not to escalate, but to defend myself from being painted in an unflattering light without evidence. I stand by that decision as fair.
Moving Forward
If the broader community believes new moderation is needed, I will support a transition—provided it is fair, collaborative, and respects all voices involved.
I have no desire to cling to power. My only request is that moderation leadership be based on community discussion, not emotional appeals or selective narratives. I have always aimed to support the game and its runners, and will continue to do so in whatever way best helps the Solar Jetman speedrunning community thrive.
I also want to point out that I am still active in the speedrunning community, Sunday May 4th I actually joined a blindrace hosted by RetrogamingliveTV, and I intent on running Solar Jetman any% again this year. Your accusations are false.
I am a respectable person and moderator in the BestofNES Discord for races, Speedgaming Discord for the Super 16 and SegaCrew for the Mega16.
I stand corrected in my previous post and yes there is proof about the TAS and there has been clips, I replied to it.
Here's some of the conversations we had in the past, that Zericc refuses to share completely. I am always here to help, and I will share what he said and what I think and have discussed.
Zericc was calling me "rude", and "disrespectful" on his live stream the other day, without showing and or/saying anything about this.
Here, around the 39 minute mark, he starts badmouthing me as a person, as again, I am here to help!
I feel very sad and upset that I am being put in the shadows, that I am the bad person, that I messed it up.
I am trying to help, and already changed it to any%, because I agree.
But I do NOT want him as a moderator, as he has been extremely unfriendly towards the community, alienated himself from the Discord and people who care about the game, and made a fool out of himself towards me and others, and clearly lies and keeps away facts during his live streams, and avoids rather than talk about when he is in a heated discussion.
All these point make him, in my eyes, a weak moderator to begin with.
Thank for your clarification. That is my mistake.
Your input is solid and true.
Hi everyone,
As a moderator and long-time runner of Soar Jetman, I'd like to clarify the current standing of the Any% category and specifically address the warp discovered and used by Zericc a couples of years ago.
This warp occurs in Stage 1 and triggers two warp holes, allowing the game to skip directly past Planet 7 - saving a significant amount of time. This discovery is impressive and, by definition, fits within the scope of Any% (beating the game as fast as possible using in-game mechanics).
Concern about consistency
However, this particular warp has the following characteristics:
-
It has only been achieved a couple of times, live, by Zericc
-
Despite years of effort, neither myself, Ktwo or any other runner has been able to replicate it (I am sure there is a TAS about this somewhere)
-
The exact conditions that cause the warp are still not understood or documented.
Given this, we've been cautious about setting it as the "new standard" route for Any% without further testing or verification.
Intent and Approach
I want to be clear: My intention has never been to discredit anyone or invalidate hard work. I have deep respect for anyone who invests time into this game and contributes new strategies. However, as a moderator, I have a responsibility to ensure that routes listed on the leaderboard reflect:
-
Techniques that are verifiable
-
Strategies that are replicable by others in the community
-
Categories that promote fair and consistent competition
A call for collaboration
If anyone - including Zerricc - can provide:
-
A repeat of the warp live or in a recorded run
-
A clear explanation or setup
-
A succesful TAS showcasing the warp
We are absolutely open to revisiting how it is represented on the leaderboard. This is not about excluding breakthroughs, but preserving clarity for runners now and in the future.
I understand emotions can run high in tight-knit speedrunning communities. If I've come across as pushy, I sincerely apologize. My goal has only ever been to help the community grow with transparency, fairness and mutual respect.
Thank you for everyone who continues to support and explore this awesome and weird little NES title. I look forward to any discoveries, discussions, or collaborations going forward.
I'll adjust the game rules and additional category as soon as I can
Changed the categories to how Artician and I discussed we should have it on the board. This was changed this morning.
Zericc
This is not what we discussed and wanted. We decided in the Discord (that you left) to do it differently and you again decided to change things on your own without discussing or talking to it with anybody. The changes I made today were thought through together with Artician, and you just deleted all my work without question.
I am going to report your actions and remove you from mod status for Solar Jetman. This is the second time you do this.
Updated!
Yeah you are right. I'll set it to start the timer at when you press start at the title screen. And end on the final hit
I'll update the rules as soon as I can. Much as the "reset console should be visible".
For the timer I would like to have it set to the timer starts when you have control over your ship and finish when the credits show after the final hit. I think the SDA timing was like this too.
I could change it in to "Timer ends when one full loop is completed and the event list appears."
It's that a good idea maybe? Because I agree on that you can start on whatever event, as long as you complete them all and qualify, it's fine.
Yes, I believe, but I am not 100% sure, it despawns after 25-30 seconds. So just go fast :D You can also go for the warp first, take a bounce on the wall and then grab the shield if you can't get the timing down.
Hi !
Is it possible to add highscore leaderboards for the individual sports?
There's a lot of people that would like to post this for Flying Disk. Thank you !
