Exactly boyish. as rsw and i said. 3DAS is different. plus it doesn't matter if its on a diff leaderboard. it's still a game you'Il probably want to speedrun. cause long live mario games. (especially sunshine its my fav of all time)
Because super mario 3d all star is different. or atleast sm64 and super mario sunshine are different. sm64 is based on the shindou edition which mean BLJ isn't a thing so 0, 1, and 16 stars speedrun aren't possible. So 70 and 120 stars being the only possible runs it wouldn't make sense to put it with the normal game. since it's not the same. 3d all star version of mario sunshine has a glitch on sirena beach only emulators have. faster loads, less lag frames. The biggest drawbacks are no notches on the controller, fludd spraying slower, and jump/talk being on the same button. Overall the 3das version is faster from what I understand. And i'd assume there a similar case for mario galaxy, as in it load faster. most of the glitches from the original version remain in all 3 games (Aside from BLJ) this is why super mario 3d all star has a different leaderboard.
Ah i never noticed. but now that you tell me that, by rewatching a speedrun of it i realised this. well thanks you. nice of you ^^
Hello hello hello! I'm here to ask a question. I've watched speedrun of super mario sunshine(3d all star version) and I have to tell. it play exactly the same. there is little to no changes other than graphics and maybe a glitch in sirena beach episode 6. Is there any notable change in speedrunning on this version?
as far as it go super mario sunshine switch is a port. which is basically a emulation. (or atleast they're both very similar) on dolphin. you could clean only one tent and the timer would stop and you'd get the shine easily. because dolphin had problems with values storage. I'd assume this is the case with super mario 3d all star version of super mario sunshine. my knowledge about emulation storing variables isn't that much better than anyone else in this forum. so i'll avoid going into details. but to make it simple. super mario 3d all star version of super mario sunshine seem to store variables differently. it's more like a emulator. than a console storing. glitches like this are common for emulation. atleast it's not entierely game breaking.
you haven't played sunshine? you missed probably the best game out here, the movement in it are insane (its my fav game of all time o3o)
Ah i thought the shindou rumor was confirmed, i'd have prefered a port tbh if they're going to fix glitches, a port with HD graphic would have been better ;p
Ah last time i searched i never found that category.. Is it new? althought to be fair i searched a few years ago so.. eitherway thanks you Noki, i'll go and search for a good sprayless run o3o
Technically They based themselves on shindou edition for mario 64 switch, since the shindou edition has fixed glitches, and different voice clips it is normal to see some glitches being patched, but as for mario sunshine all the versions had the same or almost All the same glitches As far as i know it's a slightly faster port with better graphics, i doubt it will have patched glitches. and if that ever happen. in fact all three games are ports with better graphics, sm64 allstar as i said was a port of shindou editon with better graphic optimized for the switch controls to work with it. same for sunshine and galaxy.
imagine, if it's possible it would be a cool discovery and also Maybe a possible new category, so tell me what you think and please try it out.
