Like I said, the competitive nature of such a concept is close to non-existent, it is moreso a challenge. We wouldn't accept this anyway as our recent leaderboard archive of older categories had 1 of 2, or 2 of 2 reasons to be removed. This is the same as Any% with the extra challenge.
Filters do not separate the runs, but allow users the option to filter between viewing all runs done with a certain monster. I think this is better than creating subcategories of all the monsters simply to avoid a cluttered leaderboard.
Sure the idea has been explored, but how many people do you think would run and submit? The competitive nature of 2P1C is next to none.
Too many monster subcategories would be cluttering, I think the best option would be to add filters for all the monsters, which allows people to sort by monster if they please.
Bingo is not involved with leaderboards, understand that bingo cards are pure rng, even with a set seed it's irrelevant to have a category like such on the board. I'm sure this had already been discussed when bingo originally was being created for Odyssey in early 2018. With your previous requests as well, just because there's a youtube video on it doesn't mean it should be requested or expected to be added.
The user commonly posts nonsensical threads on the site and messages in discord servers, they literally have been warned by a full mod previously but I can't see them stopping with these random posts anytime soon (until they get banned most likely). I doubt the user is even above the legal age to own an account on the site. https://gyazo.com/8887613dd6b9e49e66de3bd533e78eed
That was the previous moderator's ruleset. I never tampered with it after I became a moderator. I also never fully played through action mode so I don't know if there are differences. Possibly post a completed run with a non base-game character and I can compare.
According to previous posts i'm sure most are on board with option 5 already, no need to poll imo.

This will allow the player to move around in the fight with an unlocked camera while the enemies and initial blast zones are still active. In some cases manipulating enemies to die earlier than usual can be performed by being a certain distance away off screen which causes enemies to instantly perish. These are the current fights that are faster using the Pause Glitch including enemy manipulation strats:
- The Jungle fight 1: https://streamable.com/jnfdhx (3-3.5s)
- The Plain fight 3: (less than .5s)
- The Plain fight 4 (Pit): (Same speed as Mario, 4.5-5s)
- The Plain fight 4 (Mario): (Same speed as Pit, 4.5-5s)
- The Ruined Zoo fight 2: (5.5s)
- The Forest fight 1/Toon Link Door: (For 100%, Sonic faster in NG+, probably saves 3-4s)
- The Forest fight 2: (Easiest to pull off, 4-5s)
- The Forest fight 3: (4-4.5s)
- The Research Facility I fight 1: (2-2.5s)
- The Lake Shore fight 1: https://streamable.com/8l1tkq / (11-12s surviving as Yoshi, 7-8s with death as Yoshi)
- The Lake Shore fight 3: (3s)
- The Cave fight 3: (2s)
- The Swamp fight 1: https://streamable.com/red673 (less than .5s)
- The Swamp fight 2: (less than .5s)
- Outside the Ancient Ruins: (2-3s)
- The Subspace Bomb Factory II fight 3: https://streamable.com/vftd1h (9.5-10s)
- Subspace II fight 1: (Difficult to pull off, 2.5s)
- Subspace II fight 2: (10-11s)
- Subspace II fight 3: (3 jumps is RTA viable, 4.5-5s)
Option 5 seems most sensible compared to the others.
The original idea to create another subcategory for the newer versions of the game is good enough.
@Elims incorrect, do not discredit what the mods and verifiers do. @PaulCubes when we look for verifiers (whenever we're in need which is rare these days) we ask trustworthy people from the community, members that have been a part of the community for some time who are very active with communicating. We are not looking for verifiers at the current moment.
Classic 5.0 Tournament Rules (still forging):
- Streaming is required
- Seeding based on rankings of 5.0 runs collectively
- Best of 3 up to Top 4, then Best of 5
- BO3 has 6 bans max, BO5 has 8 bans max
- 1-2-1 Pre-Game 1 format (may be based on coin flip if agreed on), lower seed bans 1st, higher seed bans 2nd and 3rd, lower seed bans 4th, higher seed picks character, Game 1 is played, Game 1 winner bans, loser picks character, Game 2 is played, repeat for Game 3-5 if set continues
- Dropping below 5.0 results in an automatic game win for the opponent
Many runners in the discord server have stated that they are all in on the idea of holding a Classic Tournament done in a competitive format. Before we can continue with shaping the ruleset and deciding whether we wish to see this on GSA (if they have room on their schedule) or host it ourselves, who else would be interested in such a tournament? More info can be found and discussed in the discord server: https://discordapp.com/invite/TbnYgJs
Different categories from different games cannot be compared, even when it's the same idea, it is executed differently.
Comparing the most popular speedgame to this is funny, getting arbitrary categories into big marathons is not easy, you can't compare different categories from different games.
I and others have been actively on the custom subcategories train since the update with hockey goals. Though the game isn't really active enough especially in that area, I can get why it hasn't been properly considered, but if we're wanting to separate stuff like pre and post physics update from one another on the board now, I think it would be best to fix the board all at once rather than one step at a time, if we all can agree.
