I will add that at the moment it is so bad that despite living in Scotland, I (and over 20% of Scotland's population) do not actually live in any of the "shires" listed on src.

As someone from Scotland, I was looking at the shires under scotland, and found they are very incorrect.

As a brief overview, Scotland has an old "shire" system (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lieutenancy_areas_of_Scotland ) and a new "county" system (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subdivisions_of_Scotland ). Most things, such as local government, use the "county" system, but other things use the "shire" system. Either system individually would work but it seems neither were properly implemented.

Here is the list of "shires" as they appear on src:

Aberdeen Angus Argyll Ayr Banffshire Berwick Bute Caithness Clackmannan Cromarty Dumfries Dunbarton East Lothian Fife Inverness Kincardineshire Kinross Kirkcudbright Lanark Midlothian Moray Nairn Orkney Peebles Perth Renfrew Ross Roxburgh Selkirk Shetland Stirling Sutherland Westlothian Wigtown

This more closely matches the "shire" list I linked, but there are still weird innaccuracies.

Here are all the inaccuracies I found, if the "shire list" is taken to be correct. There may well be more mistakes that I missed.

  • Roxburgh, Berwick, Selkirk, Renfrew, Ayr, Dunbarton, Lanark, and Kirkcudbright should all be followed by "shire" - eg Roxburghshire. This makes a big difference - Berwickshire is an area in southern Scotland, Berwick is a town that is not even in Scotland.

  • Perth should be "Perth and Kinross"

  • Argyll and Bute should be combined to "Argyll and Bute"

  • Ross and Cromarty should be combined to "Ross and Cromarty"

  • Stirling should be "Stirling and Falkirk"

  • There is only "Aberdeen", there should be "Aberdeen" (the city) and "Aberdeenshire" (an area)

  • Glasgow, Dundee, and Edinburgh, some of the largest cities in Scotland, aren't mentioned at all.

At this point, I'd consider just nuking it all and starting again. There are more issues, as this seems to be a mishmash of multiple lists. I would recommend using the "council areas" from ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subdivisions_of_Scotland ) as they are modern and not from 1790.

TASing is possible on console but has certain limitations - motion controls are not yet possible and we can’t deal with inconsistent loads and rng yet either. Some TASing has also been done on emulator but most of the same issues apply. TASing is in an early state as all inputs have to be manually programmed in which is a tedious and time consuming process.

Relating back to what Puper said, a Best Theoretical Time (BTT) has been created for Any%. It’s currently sitting at 22:37. A BTT is a spliced run and is the closest thing to a “perfect time” we have so far. Some people dub this a “human TAS”.
