Hi!
Welcome to speedrunning :D
it's less about the in game timer and more about the version you're playing. Japanese text scrolls a lot faster compared with the version you're playing which is a massive time loss in comparison to Biohazard. We can point you in the direction of obtaining the optimal game version but we're not allowed to share the links here, we only accept Biohazard with either v1.7/8 patch or Rebirth when it comes to submitting PC runs so if you want to submit runs you'll need to switch version regardless and we can help with livesplit since we have tutorials in getting it running etc, it's worth noting also that the autosplitters for livesplit will only work for Biohazard anyway.
Don't beat yourself up about your end game time too much you're brand new to this and there will be so many little things you're doing wrong in comparison to others that you wouldn't notice due to experience, like optimal movement and menus which will also account for a lot of your time loss.
Practice makes perfect my friend keep at it and if you have any questions or need help don't hesitate to ask!
No we feel that 2 options for emulator is more than enough as those categories are already kinda dead as it is.
The plans are in place for the 2nd Leon A Tournament
8 players (possibly more) double elimination

The whole tournament will be streamed on Twitch.tv/RESpeedruns All money made during the tournament will go to charity
watch this space for updates of a start date.
Very interested in this, would love to see a video showing where it happened to you etc
We've been overwhelmed with run submissions for the main game, we'll get to extension runs asap. It's only been 4 days since you submitted please give us time :)
This problem with FMV's isn't just a win10 problem, this has been a thing even on windows XP, 7, vista etc. It's not a big deal for a speedrun, most people turn them off completely in regedit anyway.
Never heard of this either but this game is so broken I wouldn't be surprised if it can't be replicated. If you're on PC post your game settings like FPS etc, FPS is usually a deciding factor on if certain skips in Revelations titles work consistently
This was on the leaderboard In the past and although it would be nice to add this to the leaderboard now, Zec requested it's removal and doesn't want to be part of this website anymore unfortunately.
It's not a question of accuracy when it's the same emu Vs same emu. it's a level playing field, especially with a frame based timer.
Makes sense to show the most competitive category by default rather than something 99% of the community doesn't care about.
The IGT being tied to frame rate is something that has always been known with this game because just like RE2 PAL it can be the fastest IGT run by minutes due to the frame rate change and the timer not compensating for it. A lot of stuff in this game was borrow from RE2 so that shouldn't be any surprise.
Now for anyone saying the IGT is "broken" I'd like to know how you came to that conclusion because if anything this frame rate timer is actually the most fair timer to use, game slows down? So does the timer. And it's possible to output frame based timers into livesplit to give the accurate time and yes, they are accurate.
This game has a frame based timer just like RE2 (original) so yeah the difference between IGT and RTA is normal and I'm fairly certain the IGT pauses in the inventory. Which someone could verify very easily by making a save state on the final boss and sitting in the inventory for a while.
The frame based timer is the reason PAL is fucked because the frame conversion wasn't changed, same with RE2 PAL
I mean if you're going to lie about which emulator you used atleast don't show PCSxR at 2:01 In your video. https://imgur.com/a/Tx1FGWQ Nobody is bullying you, stop victimising yourself and play by the rules or just don't bother submitting runs.
I wouldn't say it makes the category broken, everyone has a keyboard if they're playing on a PC emulator which supports keyboard by default. I understand not everyone wants to use keyboard however but it's the optimal way of playing, you could still get a decent time with a controller though, the difference isn't as big as it seems.
2 typewriters are bugged, monitor room and the lab room (down the elevator) in B scenarios. The room with the box push
No. Pal is banned on emulator but even if it wasn't it's still modifying the game which is against the rules.
We could never find the milliseconds value for the hunk/tofu IGT
Ex battles splitter exists but it's not worth using really because it's only a split for each stage, all doors doesn't work for it since the IGT resets between stages
Nope it's the same for me, must be a problem with the site atm
Go ahead but we already extensively tested it with autosplitters, SRT's and other programs, so i know what the outcome would be.
ever so slightly faster text, missing textures & random crashes.
Regardless of the outcome of your tests this version will not be added to the leader boards just so you're aware.
sure the iso is probably modified but the points i made in the original thread 2 years ago are still valid, it's a translation of an old terrible version of the game that has severe issues
Also just to note, that version you have does have the directx error
Just Gona nip this is the bud before it goes anywhere https://www.speedrun.com/re2/thread/szpv4
