You've proved my point. You only care about the minor thing and not the full picture. Thanks.

Also, future reference. To quote you do this: <quote=username>Quote</quote> change the <> to square brackets.

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

Cool, I don't care. We're on the topic about a long time, not this short single level bullshit. And if I recall correctly. Crash 2 speedrunners don't have any IL speedruns.

Emulator speedrunners get a higher disadvantage because of this, you want to make them have a chance you give them the chance. But not for IL, for IL they'll have to use something else.

Oh, oh, oh. Aren't we talking about Crash 2 here and not a completely different game here? YES. Stop talking about CTR when you're meant to be talking about Crash 2. CTR has completely different shit in terms of gameplay and load times, and different emulators would have to be used for that.

I don't care that you have no respect for me.
and if you think that I am an unknow guy, I am not.
You wanna hear a fun fact about me. I don't who you are or who anyone else is. I go after anyone.

You get pissed off quite easily and talk about irreverent stuff. Like seriously. CTR? Common man you're in a Crash 2 thread. Talk about Crash 2 stuff.

Also, before I forget. PSXjin is faster than pcsx-rr when pcsx-rr gets corrected to be a little more legitimate. It basically has psxfin style of IL.

¤Joins in on the Fiesta¤

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

And now to say "screw you" to you TheRedhotbr.

Top 4: PSP FDS PS2 FDS psxfin v1.13 pcsx-rr

Did you just mention an emulator no one uses and a TAS emulator? Yes I did.

Why did you single out those two out of all the other emulators? psxfin and pcsx-rr came 1st and 2nd out of the emulators in multi-comparison in terms of load times.

pcsx-rr didn't finish in that. Why in the world are you using it? It's DNF due to the audio plugin that was used, TAS sound plugin / Pete's MIDAS. Changing it to P.E.Op.S. or Eternal fixes this issue. Future Reference: TAS / MIDAS both actually fail at the very end too. When you defeat Cortex, you get soft-locked there.

Bios used? PAL obviously. I'm not going to use NTSC bios just to get the upper hand.

Are you talking to yourself? Yes...

And now the words which are required to complete this, which I have said at the start which is what I was going to say. Screw you TheRedhotbr. ¤Fiesta erupts behind him¤

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

Oh shut the hell up TheRedhotbr with your "never be allowed on speedrunning" garbage.

Anyways, I am already redoing this one again and do it in the same way as Spyro 2
How NTSC version is faster than PAL version on bash?
Nitro, where is that stated?

What's written there is a "?" for not knowing which version is best. A statement on the best character(s). And a statement that Jap version is for Virtual Console because there is no Virtual Version of Crash Bash for PAL or US.

discussione: Crash Bandicoot
Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

Crash Bandicoot XS/Huge Adventure/Advance any% you can choose any of them due to no difference within the run.

Crash N-Tranced/Advance 2 Overall PAL/NTSC-U. Japanese version forces you to get a requirement.

Edit: Hi. future Spikestuff here hijaking this post 2 years later. Disregard what I wrote about XS/HA's 101%.

discussione: Crash Bash
Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

That's nice (obvious RNG being possible to manipulate in Bash is obvious).

You can compare it to this if you want:

You are both basically even on finishing to the second. To the frame/millisecond I have no idea/cannot be bothered checking. When you finish with Papu (or to however far you want before releasing a Work In Progress) mention it over at TASVideos too.

Good Luck.

A segmented run will be using the Bonus Rounds and saving there. This doesn't even classify as a Segmented run.

More or less this is a single stage run because you're doing a stage over and over getting the fastest time you can get.

Descriptions exist.... under video.

discussione: Spyro
Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

Oh yea it was completed I posted it in the forum I was linking but didn't link the video here.

Also to prevent bitching. PSP is the fastest and I'm not making that part up. Almost 20 seconds to SDS and 12 seconds to FDS.

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

I know you provide the link but:
also fixed with the EXE provided to me by a PCSXR developer
Now you tell me. Also it would be technically DQ because it wasn't part of the SVN.

So in due time I guess... but for now users would technically have access the SVN unless they look over here.

Do you know why I wrote "Original + Fast Disk"? I was referring to generation 1 models of PS3. Gen 1 models are known to be faster with loading screens as it has a fast disk option, later models have "slow disk" only basically.

Also when I clock mine I time and check how long they take, I can tell you pcsx-r was last no matter what even without the "lag" because calling it out for lag doesn't mean anything when every thing else does it too.

A second time is the comparison the first time is a book with the times written down on what I got looking at the FPS watching all graphics on "Fast" they ended up as the same time in the same order.

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

Well it's over... I hope. To clarify Mednafen is 2 seconds slower than PS2 SDS and PCSX-rr is 3 seconds faster. These 2 emulators are your safe bets when using an emulator to speedrun Ripto's Rage.

Edit: Just noticed I could've edited it a bit differently by having a 4x3 and not a 6x2. It was edited as 6x2 because it was easier for positioning.

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

Update: Checking now begins where the INSOMIAC Games sign is being pushed side to side.

The reason being is because of the intro loading really doesn't get checked in terms of speedruns as it actually starts from the choice of selecting.

Edit: Completed Uploading now...

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

It's very close to what I want (you have everything basically just a thing is missing that I didn't explain so that's my fault) so thank you breakingu.

Victoria, AustraliaSpikestuff10 years ago

Okay thanks for telling what core Retro uses.

A proper way to compare is to let it play out all the "Demo Mode" to compare. It shows loading times and who can keep up with who.

I didn't count how many demos are in the game but from what I looked at it's quite a number... but I assume it's around 8 minutes to do a proper comparison.

I require either an NTSC PS2 (w/ FDS and SDS) or an NTSC PS1 (I prefer both) running for about 9/10 minutes (for PS2 that's a total of 18 to 20mins) from the first underwater level until the same underwater level shows up again (til the end of that demo).

Edit:

The list of what will be used: [✓]mednafen x retroarch x BizhawkPSX (same core and same speed) (Bizhawk is a TAS emulator the core for playstation will be mednafen's ps1 core) [✓,✓,✓,✓]epsxe 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 (all versions are different) [✓]psxfin (latest version) [✓]PCSXR (latest SVN version) [✓]PCSX-rr (TAS Emulator) [✓]PSXjin (TAS Emulator allegedly more accurate than PCSX-rr) [✓]no$psx (28 May 2014) [✓,✓]PS2 - FDS + SDS

Total: 12

Other (Will not be looked into): PS1 PSP (Original + Fast Disk) PS3 (Original + Fast Disk (Talking about Gen 1 here))

with other total becomes: 16 or 17 (17 depending on a ps3 with FDS and SDS)

All emulators that require a set (epsxe¤) will be having the same gpu from Pete’s Domain everything else will be to it's stuff which has been given to it.

¤PCSX-rr will be using the set it was originally provided.

Anything with a tick next to it means it has been finished recording and is already part of the video.

Edit 2: This is something I want to state. Comparison will begin from "Sony Computer Entertainment Presents" fading in.
