Nice run! I didn't realize this worked, or maybe it's changed recently? I feel like last time I tried it wouldn't let me expel the last remaining dorf.

Yeah it really does feel like a grey area :/ which is why I had to ask. Because it really is a huge resource to plan out runs more efficiently. Which I find interesting, as long as it's using all vanilla options as you mentioned. And it trims at least a little bit of the RNG that makes runs more inconsistent. But I can definitely see the burden of proof being more difficult when verifying runs, as we blast right through that embark screen.

For sure the FPS cap rule makes great sense to me.

I totally agree with requiring showing FPS, and capping at the default 100. That's a huge aspect of this game's speed and would definitely factor into a run's total time.

If any setting changes are allowed, those are config edits as well. We just have a UI for it now. Embark profiles are an included feature of the base game. Provided the profile is shared with the run submission, personally I see no harm in allowing them.

Definitely helps keep them somewhat focused. But took a lot of runs to be sure they were all under the 3x3. What really helped was having 7 dig out that space almost instantly.

I totally agree. With a TRULY blessed run, 35 could should be possible. But literally everything must go right. When you say ditching the burrow, I assume you'd then only rely on the meeting area to draw in the extra dwarfs? Besides making more miners who would already be where we want them. I think I noticed that same issue with defining the burrow and it stopping mining. Even before you actually assign it to anyone.

Thank you for that input HexTree. I sure think that sounds reasonable as well. Settings at least for sure. Embark profiles are the only one I'm extra unsure of. But I may give a Hell% run a try with a premade embark profile instead of just using "Play now".

Haha, right? That is by far the biggest time-sink for this run. Once you embark it's mostly about avoiding any menus that force pause the game. Thankfully all of the Squad menu can be navigated while unpaused. Just need to find a more reliable way to cause an earlier siege.

LOL I love that you expelled the Fisherdwarf. Easily the most stubborn dorf. And I'm very curious about Valkuma's idea of expelling more. Will have to try that out.

I am really hoping to get some clarification on this. Certain things that may not be "stock" would be very helpful for cutting time. For example, in the latest Premium Fun% 0:41.1 run, I noticed the default embark size was 2x2 instead of 4x4. Things like that, embark profiles, maybe even announcements or autosaves could be modified to save time. But are not necessarily "stock". Given that run was approved, I assume at least minor custom settings like embark size is okay?

Yeah the burrows are not a guarantee in this new version. Alerts aren't included(yet?), so you have to wait for them to make their way to it. I tried a combo of a single tile meeting area, burrow, and even the beginnings of assigning a squad move order(didn't need the squad this run). It took MANY runs to get lucky and have all of them underneath before the collapse.

Hope this is an okay place to clarify this instead of making a new thread. What might the rule be for embark profiles? It's not specifically mentioned, but I can see it falling under not being "Stock".

Just wanted to chime in. Thanks for the update @Valkuma. I like the sub-category split of Classic and Premium that I'm seeing. Seems like a logical layout while maintaining the overall categories.

I'd love to see the release of Premium bring in some new runs. Submitted one myself today.
