As it has been decided by Call of Duty Moderation Team, Fadeskipping mechanic is now banned for any Glitchless + No OOB runs. The two Glitchless NG+ runs are to be kept, but NO NEW RUNS will be verified in this category. Due to limitations of speedrun.com, we can not, unfortunately, archive only a certain subcategory for a certain category, so category will stay "opened" but runs won't be verified.
Now that we have load removers for both of the versions of the game, there will be a change to the rules. If you do not use a load remover, your run will be submitted with load times included, this does not apply to running on console however.
From now on, only console runs are to be manually retimed Both of the load removers can be found in the resources page.
As or 28/3/2022, IL runs will be timed same as Call of Duty 2.
Time will start on gaining control (first frame after a fadeskip)
Time will end on the first frame of a victory screen.
Same will apply for United Offensive runs.
This was needed to be done a long while ago.
Old runs will be retimed within 1-3 days from today.
From this point officially, CoD 1 and UO runs will be splitted in NG and NG+. NG means that no fadeskipping at all is allowed, NG+ category allows it. Fadeskipping is a strat that involves loading a prepared-before-run save using loadgame_restart command or Restart Level button in the game menu. This allows to manipulate NPCs RNG and starting weapons. Fadeskips stay as a very controversial strat, decision might not be final, who knows?
