Yes, MarlonchavesMCR it is allowed. The way of which no longer matters due to switching to IGT. There is no longer any advantage to running on a specific platform.
Also, thanks Felipe for pointing that out.
Actually whats everyones opinion on just not retiming runs? I don't want to give an unfair advantage to runs because they where improperly retimed. Also I don't really want to sit through all the runs pausing and unpausing a timer. I don't really have time that I'm willing to give to that.
3/7/2020 - Game Updates
- All categories will now be switching to IGT - Runs will be re-timed and all existing runs with now videos will remain unchanged for legacy sake
Ok, so I think the proposed solution of switching to IGT and retiming runs is a probably the best option right now. I'm going to look at re wording the rules now and then begin retiming from wr down. If a run has no video then I will leave the time as is.
I'm creating this thread to document updates to the rulings.
My apologies life got busy I plan on looking at it this weekend.
Thank you l555444333222, for the help. I will be testing your proposed solution and thinking about how to move forward. I will get back to everyone in a couple days when decided.
Ok, I agree now with the increase amount of players that are beginning to run this game on emulator and the obvious time save that comes with it according to users in this thread, I think it is time to address this issue. I am interested in l555444333222's solution. Can you reply with detailed instructions on how to reproduce your proposed timing rules and if it is possible to replicate on emulator. If we decide to go with this I think we also need to discuss what to do with the current runs.
Hey Pappy if you happen to still have your notes for this run I wouldn't mind talking a crack at it.
I wouldn't mind doing some runs in uc any% if you could post your notes for routing if you have any that would be awesome! Also congrats on the first run on the leader board!
As requested by users in this forum the Ultimate Contest, Ultimate Contest NG+, and 100% categories have been added. Thank you to l555444333222 for helping me with rulings.
Let me know if there needs to be any changes or if I can be of assistance.
I have never played this mode. If you could come up with some rules for timing I can post up a new category.
Added a new category and updated the rulings of both let me know if you have any more requests/questions/concerns. I am here to help
I just got done looking over everything and I appreciate this discussion being constructive. I am personally apposed and not comfortable with splitting the speed run into an ng+ category due to the lack of runners for the game. I also agree with Mekarazium in the sense that it dosn't change the run other than a dialog not appearing between scenes.
Thanks for looking into this Denison. I didn't even notice when verifying. I would say that 57 secs is a pretty big time save. I would be fine with editing the rules to state run can be played on either fresh save or non fresh save. I wouldn't want to force fresh save rule and invalidate the new wr. I will update the rules with save files being noted. If you have any issues, please feel free to either message me or continue with this thread.
Alright I will be changing the rules to "Time starts when Chapter 1 is selected on the chapter select screen. Time ends when the chapter select screen loads after the ending cutscenes of Chapter 20.". Due to the rules being ambiguous during the time of Kurrigohan's run his time will stay as is.
oh just realized that the second run is incorrectly timed though.
Hey I was looking over the speed runs for Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3 cause I am looking to start running it soon. I noticed that the rules aren't super clear on when time starts and ends. I noticed that the wr is calling time after the cutscenes at the end of the last mission but the 2nd place run is calling time after defeating Sasuke. I was just wondering if the rules could be more refined.
