Same policy as Hitman 2, reposted here as a reminder.
A historical problem with Hitman speedrunning is people not submitting runs, often due to forgetting to do it or not knowing the leaderboards existed here.
In the interest of having more complete and accurate leaderboards, the moderators will be submitting any public runs here on others' behalf, as is necessary. Moderators will ask permission before submitting any unlisted videos here.
People who do not want a particular run or runs here can make their displeasure known to one of the moderators here (my own social media links are on my profile), in which case the run will be anonymized (which is allowed by speedrun.com rules).
Submissions will be closed for a day or two until some cursory checking is done on how the rating system works, among other things.
Default, other extension, and PSVR categories will require some additional contemplating before being added.
Due to the fact that difficulty changes very little about the any% category except in Bangkok exits, the decision has been made to remove difficulty as a variable for any%. Removing difficulty as a variable for any% has the benefits of decreasing redundant runs on multiple difficulties, as well as sticking to the idea any% should not involve any arbitrary restrictions
Due to speedrun.com UI limitations, we cannot assign difficulty to SA and not any% in full game, so for full game any% runs just submit to "professional", no matter what difficulty you played on.
Difficulty will remain a subcategory for SA and SASO runs.
This decision will carry over to Hitman 3 as well.
Effective immediately, any% runs will not be accepted on the H2 extension categories due to a general lack of effort and interest in them.
Edit: All any% submissions from the past are now rejected.
Again: You cannot submit any% runs to the H2 extension boards going forwards.

In the interest of having more complete and accurate leaderboards, the new moderator policy is that if you submit (or give permission to submit) even one run to this site, that is taken as tacit approval for moderators to submit other publicly available runs from you here, in all applicable categories.
If you do not want a specific run (or runs) listed, you are free to delete the run yourself assuming you have an speedrun.com account, as any runs submitted by moderators will be listed as under the runner's account.
If you do not have a speedrun.com account, but give permission to moderators to submit runs for you, the runs will be listed under your name but not tied to any account. If you want a particular run (or runs) deleted and you do not have a speedrun.com account, feel free to DM any of the moderators about this (my social media links are in my profile).
Hopefully this policy strikes a good balance between complete leaderboards, and respecting the privacy of players who don't want to be listed here.

These are the following Hitman speedrunning discord servers:
Hitman Runs Server (the "official" Hitman speedrun.com server)
- Best place to ask a general question regarding speedrun strats or run rules, and get information about announcements and polls for Hitman 3 speedrun.com leaderboards
Zebulaus (Server run by Zebulaus, a knowledgeable community member.)
- Good for more specific questions about a certain main mission speedrun strategy.
Frote's Server (server ran by Fortheseven aka Frote)
- Generally good Hitman knowledge, but not really focused on speedrunning main missions)
Well, Zebulaus and Frote's are both not officially affiliated with speedrun.com.
The "official" Hitman Runs server is the best place to get information on future announcements or polls regarding the Hitman 2016 speedrun leaderboards, even if people don't chat here all that much.

Slight updates to rules in case anyone is interested, after consulting with mendietinha:
- I have retimed all full game runs, corrected any discrepancies
- I have also tightened up the rules so that rating screen is required to verify IGT on every map but Final Test and Freeform Training; the timer HUD is not accurate enough

Category extensions have now been added: https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_2_extensions/
Current categories are fiber wire only, no loadout default start, default start/ equipment, accidents only, sniper only.
Open for more recommendations as well. Hopefully people actually submit runs.
Just in case anyone is confused:
In Individual Levels you MUST have a rating screen at the end of the mission to confirm in-game time. Any resets before the successful run will not be considered in IGT calculation. No saves/ loads allowed.
For full-game runs resets are allowed only if you have the in-game timer HUD on. Add any time that elapsed in a level when you reset (based on what the timer HUD says when you reset) to the total IGT. Rating screens still required. No saves/ loads allowed.
