When using objects to move around in the out of bounds area, the height of the location you're moving to doesn't matter if it is also completely out of bounds. Not completely confirmed in all cases, but so far it's been a success.
Was testing if graphics settings had any effect on out of bounds movement and I seem to have made a discovery. Having "Low" settings allowed me to move around more consistently on "Swamp" without sinking in the water and getting softlocked. Haven't tested on any other chapters yet.
Just wanted to know so I can do it myself. Thanks for the heads up. I only started using this specific tri peaks when I was trying for PBs a few months back.
Why isn't there 3 seconds at the end once the last card is clicked which would be consistent with other runs?
I see he streamed 2 days ago. Maybe try whispering him on Twitch as well.
Reloading checkpoints reloads/resets objects from previous puzzles, including one use items. These can potentially be used for further optimization.
I am solo modding a game that nobody else runs, but I would like to have the proper rules in place in case that ever changes.
What is the general consensus on people submitting IL WR split times that happened during full game runs?
The portal at the end of Desert(Chapter 6) is potentially huge. Accessing it early could save minutes.
Edit: I made progress. Triggering the cutscene which causes the birds to move... butttt the tree and nests are still blocking the path.
(instructions in the description if anyone wants to attempt to figure this one out.)
Now that a method of getting out of bounds has been discovered, the next big breakthrough would be dialogue skips. There are several points where throughout the game, and I've only managed to skip one that lasts 5 seconds.
If you use an object to go somewhere the devs didn't intend(e.g. out of bounds), you can pick up the object out from under you. This will cause the game to sometimes(maybe all times) move you in a specific direction. Not 100% certain yet, but this direction is determined by whichever direction you move the object after picking it up. Even if you do not place it.
Edit: I was partially wrong. You do have to place it to move again. and you will not move if you place it too far away. if you do not pick it up right away after placing it, it will reset back to original position. potentially off screen.
Going to use this thread for things that don't end up in videos. In case I ever stop playing, and other people come along to speedrun the game.
Here is a list of currently discovered skips: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL69vLNIGfJJkJi9hcw5792oKJ6jbSJI--
Notes about splits comparisons in top 2 times: Q1: Jadrian2000 was ahead by -3 because of the score. Q2: Jadrian2000 was ahead by -7 because of the cutscene in between quarters. My blackscreen was 4 seconds longer. Q3: Jadrian2000 allowed a score bringing the gap to around -4.5. Q4: Jadrian2000 had a different cutscene that caused them to lose the lead and more in just 15 seconds. I also accidentally allowed a score, and by the time the buzzer sounded I was -1.5.
Basically, this category is at a point where it's heavily reliant on which cutscenes you get. I'm done running this category regardless, but 4:40 is possible with the right cutscenes. Outside of that, there isn't really much you can do to make up time that involves actually playing.
