I'm curious if the Keyboard is more effective. Could you try to do in on the NTSC with the keyboard and see if your strat works?

After some research I think the main difference is in the PAL VS NTSC version and the trigger for Rygar to fall. Rygar will fall after only 3 frames without the down button pressed and on the PAL it looks like it is 6. Making this trick and airwalking much different on the PAL

I have worked this out a few years ago and was able to pull it of with the D-pad but only after hundreds of tries.

Thanks! I have I have noticed that I get different patterns without up+A or dieing but that maybe because I'm resetting and not going from power on. I have chatted with ChX a bit about his run. I'm planning on going no glitches so door clips are out.

Hello I'm looking into a no hit/damage run and was wondering if there was any documentation on minupulating boss patterns? There seams to be some very agresive patterns. If there is not a way to manip them maybe and early indicator of what pattern you will get. Thanks

thanbk you this is exacly what I needed to know. One more question. Does anything else use that timer? Is there anything else we can use to know the position besides taking damage?

also the electric floor room at the end do you think that there is a human viable way past without damage

I'm looking into a no damage playthrough and was wondering if you could do a quick breakdown on the pausing to avoid damage in gas rooms? I'm looking for the easiest set up to go no damage. Speed dosn't matter to me. thank you

Thanks for the reply! I have dove a little into it and you are right there are some spots that would be very hard but I have seen nothing imposable. However by the time you add up all the low % chance spots I think a no hit playthrough is very highly unlikely. I may look into the memory a bit to see how the RNG is created. You never know what we might find.

I see the speed run manips the blue jar in level1. Is that is a timer manip? It looks to have more to do with the time is is active kind like doors rather than a drop manip.

Right now one thing I have worked on is when standing on the far right or left of the screen with the levitation active in some cases is 100% safe and you will kill enemies that run into you. You could then grind until getting a red jar for invincibility and then proceed to another "safe" spot and grind another red jar. This would be mind numbingly boring but safe-ish

I was asked yesterday about a no hit run of this game. My first questions is does anyone know of one? Second would be any advice on how to make this posable? In other games I have done it has been important to manipulate some aspects of the game like enemy spawns of item drops but do far I have not found anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm not sure I'm going to grind it but I'm taking a quick look at it.

I agree with what you guys are saying. I would just like to clarify with ASAP_Smash to be sure. The last thing I want is to put the run together and then have it not me the requirements.

I have a few more quick questions about the rules. I know it has been stated that we should follow the 100% All Keys rules on speedrun.com but there are a few trick/glitches that I use in my run that are very slow and are not covered in the all keys category are they are just to slow for anyone to use. One is on the flying scull fish bridges. I take the time to kill a bunch of the fish as to fill the screen up with drops this will make it so the game cannot spawn more fish. I do this because there are times that the game can spawn fish in such a way that they shoot rocks at you from both directions and there are un dodgeable. Another trick I use through the run is to load screens multiple times to manipulate enemy spawns and to de-spawn enemies. These are not really covered in the rules as they take time speedrunners are not willing to lose. If you could clarify whether they are allowed that would be great.

Lastly how about the extra lifes (Link Dolls) I think there are 6. also there are a few 500 point bags as well?

Pennsylvania, USASlackanater2 years ago

Quick question. Just to be clear. Requirements are all magic and health squares as well as spells. How about skills to 8-8-8? This is not required in the 100% Category. Also would you require all keys to be picked up? I just want to be sure of the rules.

Nice to see a completed run! I'm all for a damageless category. Though I'm more of a one and done with damageless. Zetorux please let me know if you are ever able to catch a live stream and I will go over all the strategies I use.

I would love to see more people running this game. I’m not sure who the current mods are as I do t put much time into it myself. My only hesitation on adding switch would be that a lot of research and testing should be done to be sure that it functions the same as the original. The floor clips would be my main concern.
