So, Simoteus has pointed out a great shortcut to me for restarting runs and I wanted to run it through the mods.

Basically, if you adjust your settings (Turbo and Controls), and exit the menu, the game creates a save file, even if no game has been started. You can copy that file and paste it to start a run with those settings already changed.

This doesn't affect the actual run time at all. These settings are changed before the timer starts. It also doesn't interfere with the run's official start time: when the save file notification disappears after selecting Nero. This notification still appears, even if you paste the save file.

Since this run usually requires several restarts to get a perfect Mission 2, this would save a bit of time and hassle while running. However, in the rules for this run, I came across this:

"Before turning on the timer, delete your old save-file and include the changes to your settings in the video, otherwise your run might be rejected."

Does this rule still stand in this case?

Do you plan on intertwining fight strategies with general route guides? They're fairly distinct in this game, and I could talk for a while about individual fights, boss quick-kills, and dealing with contingencies, while the route itself is pretty straightforward, minus a couple brief skips.

Yes, absolutely. The streaming rule would be rough for all the reasons you listed, even though I also want to stream all my runs.

"...solutions used by others in the past." Can you give examples?

Renegade has a good point. Mods might want to consider introducing some rules to make this run less vulnerable to cheating, since it's been done already.

My only fear with the timer rule is, well... what's to stop someone who's gone through the effort of splicing a video to add a timer post-recording?

Streaming seems to me to be the only surefire way to prevent false runs, but requiring WR runs to be streamed seems unfair to me. Perhaps just have the submitter stream a run after submission to demonstrate a certain consistent skill level. I don't know how fair that is.

Hi all, I'm new to speedrunning and looking to start this as my first game.

It looks like Yudhveer holds the WR for this game here: and I was just curious why it isn't on this site's leaderboards, unless I'm missing something. Is it just because of how recent it is?

Thanks!
