Staff applications are now open for Rogue-a-rama: https://forms.gle/14ZTBNmT2dabgVgs7
We're looking for the following help....
-
Restreamer: We will be utilizing a remote computer and logging in via teamviewer. This means you do not need excellent internet yourself to restream. Restreamers are responsible for cropping the runner's stream into the RogueHQ stream, updating the overlay elements, and making sure things are good to go for each run
-
Chat Moderator: Be in the chat during the event (won't have to be the whole time). Answer questions, edit the stream title, etc
-
Host: Work with the restreamer closely for each run. Introduce each runner at the start of a run, and announce donations and incentives between runs

Remember, we are looking for games with:
- Lots of RNG
- Heavy reset values
- Wildly inaccurate estimates
- Things you just don't get to see in other marathons
Submissions close August 3rd

@Daravae The marathon is completed. Please go ahead and reset it with the new info provided. Thank you for your help!
@Daravae Yes. That marathon is ongoing with day 2 today. Totally fine with reusing the current forum for the next one. In the future, should I just keep reusing the same marathon then and update the dates myself, or do I still need to come through this forum?

So there has been some back-and-forth on the current layout. Figured I'd leave it up to a strawpoll: I'm not voting myself. Easy changes from an administration standpoint: https://www.strawpoll.me/17455365
It looks like they added a new level since the speedruns that are recorded were done? It is one where you have to go up ... and takes a lot of time. Or is that something that you can skip somehow. Anyone else seeing this or can help?
The leaderboards have been updated and runs have been replicated over to the Full Game Leaderboards.
The final layout is based upon discussion from the discord channels. Please join the conversation there or let us know here if there are any concerns.
The old leaderboards will be deleted after a short period of time. Please let us know ASAP if you see any issues.
I have posted this elsewhere, but wanted to make a new thread to make sure everyone saw it so that they know what's going on, and they have a chance to weigh in.
- All runs will be moved into the new categories. Nobody's runs will go away or need to be resubmitted
- The whole idea here is to make running this game more appealing to new runners, and to drive up more competition in fewer categories instead of the current 48 different categories
- All categories will have a sub-categorization between Easy and Hard. Otherwise, everything will be at the category level on the Full-Game Leaderboard
- Current Glitched% will be moved to a Miscellaneous category
--Any% will contain the 2-Island Easy and 2-Island Hard runs using Custom Squad. --4-Island% will contain the 4-Island Easy and 4-Island Hard runs using Custom Squad. --Squad% will contain all of the non-Custom Squad 2-Island Easy/Hard runs. --Squad 4-Island% will contain all of the non-Custom Squad 4-Island Easy/Hard runs. --All Squads% will contain the current All Squad runs. I will remove the current without secret squad run (it's mine. I'm just fine not having it split out separately). --100% will contain gamejam's all achievements run which is currently in the All Squads category
I plan to make these changes very soon. I am positive that this will help us to grow the community here. Again, please ping me ASAP if you have any concerns.
Ok. Here's the thought. Would like to get anyone's thoughts.
This is based upon trying to get the layout to more of a standard. The nice thing about a non-grid layout is that it encourages people to play by showing them where to start. The current grid just overwhelms.
First is to get rid of the individual squad breakout. Picking the fastest squad to beat the game as quickly as possible is how you run games. Having 48 different categories to run is overwhelming, and doesn't promote competition, which is needed to keep the community alive.
Recommendation (each category has sub-categories for Easy and Hard): -Any% (excludes only death glitch) -4-Island% (excludes only death glitch) -Squad% (no random, custom, or death glitch) -Squad 4-Island% (no random, custom, or death glitch) -All Squads% (currently squad% with secret squad) -100% (new file, unlock all achievements)
And the current runs would be able to be moved into these categories, so nobody would lose a run. No worries there!
This is for a request for mod access for Into the Breach: https://www.speedrun.com/itb
There are currently 2 moderators: Zeal_Iskander, who has been offline for 27 days, https://www.speedrun.com/user/Zeal_Iskander/info , and Akers who has been offline for 8 months. https://www.speedrun.com/user/Akers/info
Runs have been submitted by at least 2 runners for over 2 weeks with no verification (just the runners I know about). I have posted in the forums asking to offer my assistance, but have seen no reply. The moderators have no links to other methods of contact or communication. They both used to be a part of the official Into the Breach discord, but are no longer a part of that server
