I've run a lot of stuff in the past and continue to run a fuckton of stuff. Recently, I've had people complaining to me that I don't update any of my YT vids with the title WR (since they were WR when uploaded). However, I'm very lazy and don't want to have to manually update every title after it's beaten, especially since a lot of my runs in the past were done on games I don't care to speedrun atm and therefor don't look at the boards for. Is this a scummy thing to do? The same person from before said I'm a scumbag for not being willing to constantly update any WR vids to former WR or something like that.
Is Flashpoint allowed? Not sure if there's differences: https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/
@Sandstorm187 I simply have the perfect profile, so nothing needs to be changed.
We've all seen the "Don't Break The Chain" post ( https://www.speedrun.com/talk/thread/yzqno ) where the creator simply said: "This thread is simple.
Don't Break The Chain.
I will type something like yummy!
And you will have to do the same. If someone does something wrong, the chain is broken and a new chain is formed. Get ready!"
The goal of this thread on the other hand is to break the chain. Continuing a chain will get you banned from everything everywhere (my dad works at Nintendo).
@FloppyPants ah, working on a PB you're proud of? I just submit the fastest times I happen to record. My first run was 2 hours 10 minutes lol
@Guppycruncher available via flashpoint: https://www.speedrun.com/mario_cart_2/guide/5rbaa
@Komrade this is on dolphin in general (which is why I asked here), and TAS inputs don't show up as controller inputs I don't think (without extra work), so it would make TASing impossible without putting in that time, adding to validity. Furthermore, an input display can help show that someone isn't doing crazy shit like frame-perfect inputs the same exact way every time or something.
I have my backup of this game injected on my 3DS, it still runs off the same base as the normal game would (I think), but it might load a little faster due to digital storage instead of physical (I never tested this), would I be allowed to use that to play this game?
Would I be allowed to play this way?
Made a poll on it for those interested, results will probably decide how this in handled: https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/vweos/1#wpgsi
Emulated runs are currently allowed in a game I moderate, however this leads to it being really easy to TAS. I was thinking that to counteract this, we require something like gamepad viewer ( https://gamepadviewer.com/ ), which without a lot of extra effort wouldn't track inputs from a TAS on an emulator (I don't think). Was wondering if this would be a good idea to require emulated runs to do (with a guide made in order to show them how to do it) and just wanted a quick yes or no. Made a strawpoll to collect the answers, so if yall wouldn't mind a quick yes or no it'd be appreciated.
