2.) Bite the bullet and mod the game but find someone to replace you after the game has boards

3.) Look around to see if someone else will mod it for you

Yeah, any capture card with passthrough can work.

Most people disagree with this (because I believe it has latency), but you could SNES -> HDMI with a passthrough card assuming there isn't a SNES one with passthrough. Not too sure though, I haven't looked into it personally.
