Sorry... I'm sure you can easily take this back, though!
Yes, that's what I thought. Gaining momentum probably makes it much easier, but I've never gotten that perfect entry, (not bonking the top of that wall) not even on my any% attempts!
That means that you could easily improve my level 7 time by quite a few milliseconds...
Exactly my point!
Unfortunately, I don't know if the mods will end up retiming Swskrei's run, as it was edited on clipchamp... I could be wrong, though!
Wow, I didn't know it was so difficult... that just makes it even more insane that Micheal managed to pull it off in a fullgame run!
I don't know why it would be easier in interpolation, but maybe it is...
Weird... it is very difficult to create a working timer on scratch, so it makes sense.
Anyway, thanks for agreement! Hopefully the mods will agree as well.
Hello, everyone!
Before I start this off, I just want to say that this is NOT meant to accuse any player of cheating. Thanks!
Anyway, let me get to the point. I've been watching Micheal Chan's and Swskrei's fullgame% runs quite a bit, and I've realized that there is a large flaw in the timing of both speedruns. Neither of their timers start at the first frame of movement, which is the rule for fullgame%. I understand it is quite difficulty to exactly line up the timer with movement, and usually a millisecond or maybe even half of one wouldn't matter before, but with how competitive it is nowadays, I don't think we can let that slide.
Therefore, I propose that the mods can instead time the runs! This would make sure the timing is equal and fair for each runner, as well as removing any possibility of cheating. (Again, I am not accusing any runner of doing so!)
Of course, the final decision rests with the mods, but I would like to know what everyone thinks!
If you managed to read all that, you have my deepest gratitudes!
Agreed; I didn't even know that was possible!
Somehow, Micheal's fullgame% level 7 is more optimized than my any% level 7!
If you don't want to go immediately for the saws (which I would totally understand) I think you can improve his level 8 time quite a bit.
I cannot express in words how insane this is.
I thought Swskrei's world record was the best a human could do, but you improved that by SIX ENTIRE seconds! Great job, I don't think this will EVER be beaten, even by Swskrei.
What I find the most insane is how quickly you mastered the side jump corner death on level 8... it took me weeks to master that, and you did it in just a few days!
Well, if you want to stop, I would understand.
You already have quite a few WRs!
Another one of my time tied; nice!
Although, like you said, I'll definitely improve this level at some point, so don't expect it to be WR for too long.
Dang, you already tied my run!
If you got the jump into the hole, you definitely would've beaten my time.
Still, great job! Do you think you're going to improve this?
Honestly, whatever you want.
I'm not sure if you need the mod's approval or not.
No, you can keep the forum open, in case anyone else has anything to add to this.
Anyway, you can go for it whenever you want!
Good luck!
In all honesty, I think that this would be a great idea, as we the only problem there is with adding categories like these is because we don't want the Appel speedrunning page to become too crowded.
However, this solves the problem very effectively! We can add more categories to the Appel category extensions page as well, if someone has an new idea for one.
Swskrei, I don't think you understand what minecraftmanpp_tutor means.
Many games on speedrun.com have an entirely different page for "category extensions." I believe this is what minecraftmanpp_tutor is talking about.
Correct me if I'm wrong, though!
True, true.
If anyone can do this, though, it'll be you or Micheal Chan!
Also, you might have to come back soon, since Micheal Chan said to "give me a few days..."
Level 4 can also be improved by quite a bit if he went on the hole perfectly, and level 6 can be improved if he did the spring side jump at the end.
So, I think the best possible time for a human would be something like 3:52, which is INSANE!
