This glitch is called "Key Cancel" and saves around 15 seconds. When you beat Bowser 1, to perform the glitch, you have to stand at the exact place where the key will appear. Then once the key appears, hold the down arrow key and P: the game should pause and the key should disappear, which means you collected it. Unpause and hold the inputs to perform a backflip. Once that's done you'll be able to move freely with no key on the map. Then fall down and you'll come back to the castle, the rocket and turbo nozzles will be unlocked.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'s any% speedrun is silly, out of the four cups you only complete the two last ones with a meh kart, and the definition doesn't make that much of a sense anyway

Sonic Adventure 2's any% pushes it to the next level, you have to complete 40 times the same stage in the same way everytime in order to make a wrong warp glitch work (see from 10 minutes in this run: )

SSF2 is a game where mods have to verify not only once but multiple runs at once (it can go up to 20 for a single person). A runner that posts his time can sometimes put it in the wrong section considering how many runs you have to upload, then mods usually edit those to correct the mistakes. Although considering how many runs mods have to verify, it's hard to see every mistake, sometimes some of them can be left and published as they are. So both players & mods have to look carefully.

Categories are fine as they are, there's no way (afaik) to delete a category for a specific level in the level leaderboard, so we'll keep working the current way for now

Having most records doesn't make someone eligible by itself, the dedication you're able to give to the page alongside with the knowledge of the game makes for it imo. Having a lot of records can be a proof of dedication, but if that many of your records got beaten fast, it's because they weren't optimised enough. Especially level 2 and 3 in this case, I can tell that level 1 requires more work to get a record on it.

Though I've heard yours and nnmn's intention to be mods, we will think about it. I'm not sure we need mods right now, but if we do, we'll remember your applications.

I'm not against having another mods since I'm more or less inactive, but that has to be discussed with the other mods.

1. Ask for another speedrun.com game page to be created to have one page for beta and one page for v0.9b
2. Arrange the leaderboards to have both 0.9b and beta here.

Yeah, I would like that change to be made as soon as possible though I'm not entirely sure I can do it / what would be the best way to do it. Should we recreate a new page for the new version of the game or change this one, which would be a mess ?

Just to precise because a misunderstanding has been made there, the All Characters RTA runs are RTA as their names indicate: they're a single segment run that complete every BtT level in a row. I really thought there was a Total Time category but I'll add them both; if you want All Characters RTA to be removed we can talk about it here.

I don't really know which categories we can add that would make sense besides All Events honestly. SSF2 Beta is probably coming soon so that might fix the problem.

Recently I've been using an excel sheet that I made that calculates goal splits for any given time (i.e Balanced PB splits for any goal time if you're using LiveSplit), and I find it quite useful

After copypasting LiveSplit times into the three first columns and setting a goal time under the "Ideal" case, the sheet calculates reachable goal splits that have the time you entered as the final time. In other words, it gives you split times in order to give you steps to reach your goal time.

There's also an additional column that you can edit (the "offset" one, though that's not the correct word for it), where you can set a time to make a specific split easier to match (if it's RNG based or very hard), which will make all of the other splits a bit harder to match so that the final time stays the same.

I'd like to know if a tool like that interests anyone so that I continue to work for it / allow it to be downloaded, or if you have any suggestions to improve it ?

We can maybe add one 99 stock category with fixed rules but adding 8 categories for such a goal doesn't make a lot of point, especially because no one would really run them and the competition would be kinda dead because there are too many categories

I removed them for now but we can discuss another category like this here if you want, the initiative in itself is pretty good
