Wow! Only 7 months ago when I was saying I didn't think I'd ever beat my 12m50s and here we are with FluxDreamcasitor88 having a 11m57s run and me close behind with a 12m00s.
Something that I'm working on, and should happen eventually with enough runs, is basically what I'm calling a "Golden Ticket" in my head.
It's pretty much just perfect RNG on the second and third levels. The first and last levels rely mostly on pushing the right buttons at the right time.
Here's a breakdown of what that means for both levels:
Second Level
Store/Guard Order
Joe's Formal Wear, Guard, Royandale Cinemas, Rhinestone Jewelers, Guard, Salon d'Albino, Wumpus World, Tall Stout and Deformed Clothes, Kafka's Candies, Margestrom, Stillers Outpost, Guard, Just Lids, Pathos Fashions, Minnie Shoes.
Third Level
You have to get to get to the last piece of paper in the level before it blows onto the sand. I'll check later, but I think it's when the wind blows 3 times. Getting to that last piece of paper first and then heading back is a massive time save but it's just really difficult to do and everything about it relies on the randomness of the wind.
Sometimes it can still be faster if the wind blows enough times so you can head back after the last pieces of paper have blown off of the sand, but it's quicker if you beat the wind there first.
I just got a 12m50s run that I don't think I'll ever be able to top. I might be wrong, but I'm probably right. I'm not saying it can't be beaten, but it's just that the RNG on Level 3 was really rare. I also didn't have any major mistakes on Level 4 and got through it pretty fast.
I think every time you hit a shopper on Level 2 you change the direction of the guard, and you can kinda gamble with where you land up if you want to get to the other side of the level. When it works it's cool, when it doesn't it's not cool, haha. I haven't really been able to use that effectively and then have a good Level 3.
If anyone out there thinks they can beat this time, good luck! (because I don't think I'm going to)
