RTA No QS is a thing in the HL2 episodes at least, which is RTA but without quicksaves (so autosaves only). It's basically SS.
That video clears up everything I was wondering about. Thanks.
This could be useful for 100% then. I'll fiddle with it.
So how do I know when to look at one of those spots then to respawn the DA?
What if I look the complete other way instead?
Also if I push the Valets away while waiting for the ZR to drive into the garage, they have returned to their original spot by the time I get back to enter the marker.
I'm not implying anything. I asked a simple question and you didn't answer it. Instead you gave me a list of things that can happen, not things the player has to do. I didn't ask about what can go wrong, I asked about what I have to do right. Obviously if I didn't push the valets far enough, point 1 wasn't succesfully met.
So I'm going to ask again. Please answer my question. (hint: It's a yes/no question.)
- I have to push the Valets a certain distance
- I have to look in a certain direction depending on traffic lights
- I win? (provided some other car doesn't want to drive in.)]
I hope you have an RTLS route
Ok so I hear all these things and I have no idea what is happening anymore.
What are the suggested route changes people had for this mission collectible/exportvehicle-wise?
So in short:
- I have to push the Valets
- I have to look in a certain direction depending on traffic lights
- I win?
Ok so I hear all these things and I have no idea what is happening anymore.
Can someone make a video or a WELL-WRITTEN post of what the strats for this mission are if swimming wasn't a thing?
Just want to point out there's a "show videos only" option on each leaderboards, that lets you filter out runs without video and solve all your problems. Maybe the site could have it ticked by default.
Also, runs could be verified legit without video. What if the run was done live on a marathon like GDQ or ESA, witnessed by many people? What if the video has been removed since the run was done but many people confirmed it was legit? What if the runner recorded their run on VHS tape, and snailmailed that to the leaderboards moderator?
I'm fine with low ranking runs not having video. Noone would watch it anyway. If the person who is 78th on the leaderboard somehow becomes suspicious of cheating but there's no video, just remove it.
I never got around to uploading these and showing them, so here they are. Unfortunately the previous thread on SDA is closed so I'm posting these here.
You're forgetting that getting a firefighter pattern like this is not common. While it would be faster, it would also be a lot more draining on the mental health having to do Big Smoke over everytime a car spawns too far away.
since you should be familiar with the sounds anyway
Exactly, so if you're not you should be penalized for it by getting bad runs with mistakes in it, rather than chickening out and replacing the sounds to more recognizable ones.
What Yashichi writes in his post is a SHITTON of exceptions, and imo this is not the way to go. Ban addons completely, just for the sake of consistency. One or two exceptions are fine (portal style viewmodel texture), but not a thousand of them.
I'm too lazy to remember who I talked to and all, so I just want to shoutout to these people: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15ou3_7x6nUrRxdD6FIRFNL5KTadZvm6sguj5Qbs8dx4/pubhtml# If you want a more personalized shoutout, post in this thread.
There were lots of amazing people this year, in fact everyone I talked to was. I literally talked to dozens of people, many of whom I had only met and discovered for the first time this event, so it is likely that I forgot your name (up to the point where I won't even recognize it if it was written in front of me)! My apologies if that is the case :(
-Alko: It is always nice to see you, even after 3 years. -Baffan: Hope your leg feels better yet. We didn't talk much beyond that so I don't have much to say. -AMVX: <3 Seriously, come back next year. You bring good mood with you. -MHMD_FVC: Nice meeting you. GG on your VC run and thanks for sticking with me for 7 hours! -RoboSparkle: Dude it's robosparkle, do I need say more? -Smartkin: I can't remember who you are. If we talked, I am sorry for forgetting :( -Mrzwanzig: ^ -Melis: You weren't there, but I hope I and others were successful in including you and making you feel part of ESA anyway. -CursedDolls: I read your shoutout and I will say the same to you, it was nice having you there. Also thanks for the bowling event organization! -JangBang: See Mrzwanzig -Eidgod: The fact you don't give any shoutouts yourself perfectly describes my ESA experience with you. You were way too busy with your own stuff and had no time to talk to me. -Lighnat0r: I barely saw you this year :( -Graywords: See JangBang -Naegleria: I have no idea what to write. You seem like a cool but trolly dude but I haven't played enough mafia games with you to be able to tell properly. It was nice meeting you regardless. -Pottoww: See Graywords -PeteThePlayer: You keep spamming me on IRC to write a shoutout, so here's one. Next time be patient -Lysteria: I liked your hat the first day I met you. Didn't see you wear it ever again later :( -Fatzke: Fatzke -Mobiusman: See Pottoww
I accuse Maral, Frozer and Shrimp.
Are you sure you're going to finish this time?
It is taught in friggin high school though that whenever you are giving a presentation in front of a big audience (which is what doing a run at ESA is really), you ALWAYS repeat a question before answering because the rest of the room may not have heard it (among various other reasons.)
Banning people from asking questions when the runner is perfectly capable of executing this communication skill (granted, not every runner is) is odd to me.
