Well if you are talking about an edge glitch then thats not allowed, but I don't think thats what you're saying. Both portal standing (ledging) and portal peeking are allowed in glitchless.
Planetary alignment is a glitch used specifically in a chamber 16 tas and wil be used in the jumpless no SLA segmented run currently hosted my Imanex.
Here is a link to the explanation of planetary alignment:
We have had multiple discussions on this topic. The reason it is banned currently can be summed up as, because the comunnity decided that it is. The rules might change in the future, but for a category as arbitrary as glitchless, it is ultimately the community that decides what is, and isnt allowed.
Yeah if you want to skip the vault cutscene you need the official vault save. If you're having trouble with it, ask in the discord and someone will likely send you the files you need
Some people chose to delete most of the voice lines. This has no effect on the gameplay seeing as the game is based on triggers and not dialouge. It does not matter for verification reasons either, so yes, you can change them to whatever you'd like within reason.
Optimally you submit a video and demos, which is why we specifically ask for that for top 10 runs. In most cases a video is fine though. If we see anything suspicious will ask you for demos so its a good idea to record them anyways.
Yeah so basically this can happen if you save at the first tick of the map, not sure if it can happen any other way, but we dont know. As far as we know just don't save at the beginning of a map to prevent this
You don't need the autosplitter, but that would be a huge problem for any other category than glitchless seeing as you skip some of the elevators in all other categories
for the future, you might want to join the portal discord. you will probably get faster replies that you are right now
As I said before you'd need to compare against gametime to "pause" your timer. You do this by right clicking livesplit, click compare against and click gametime. that way it shouldnt keep timing during loads.
I know what you mean, but you'd need to compare against gametime to be able to submit time without loads
If you are not comparing against gametime then no. Not sure if it will work for xbox, but if you try to right click livesplit and then click compare against and finally gametime that might do the trick. You can do a simple check bye seeing if it keeps timing while you're loading a new map. You also should enable the autosplitter. I'm pretty sure you were splitting in every elevator which you should not do. you split on every load, meening there are multiple chambers in one map. These maps are: 00/01, 02/03, 04/05, 06/07 and 11/12. the other maps only contain one chamber.
I think you need to be very careful when it comes to that. Unless you have a good way of defining glitch then you should not use it for a category imo. This is a huge problem that portal 1 also had, and no major glitches is really the only good way of doing it. If you can define glitch in a good way then go ahead. Or would you just remove all the currently allowed "glitches" from that category?
Well, loading times all depend on different things, so we cannot just give you a number on it. It will definitely take away quite a bit of time. Switching to pc might have shorter loading times than xbox does, but compared against gametime you will not get free timesavce from it. I would recommend using pc just because alot of tricks are way easier on pc. Hope this helped!
I think it would be no major glitches rules. Defining glitch is not gonna happen I think
This is all well and good, but I think the reasoning for not putting in intended% was that you couldnt define it very well. the route was never the problem, but since the glitchless rules are as bad as they are I dont think this is a very good way of defining it. of course this is just my take on it, but I have a feeling goodigo will look at it with a similar opinion. For the record I agree that this is the route that should be used if intended% became a thing
I had the understanding that there are some textures that you shouldn't change, like wall textures and stuff like that.
