@SauceDallas93 I think that would be a sensible solution, however, doesn't that add its own set of problems too? You'd be able to submit your runs, sure, but now you're technically "capped" a few seconds behind people that are running at higher framerates (which in turn would mean that you're competing against people you can't really beat, considering the "most optimal run" kind of scenario).
I could be saying silly stuff, but I don't think its really good to mix different FPS's into one single category, unless its 100% certain that framerate doesn't affect anything else besides the timeloss in cutscenes, as mentioned in the very first post of this thread. I say that because if it is a consistent difference we could just find a way to re-time runs, according to the FPS of the player, to compensate the differences across the board.
As someone who was very excited to start speedrunning for their very first time, I have to say that it is extremely discouraging to see this kind of decision. I don't have money to afford for an upgrade to my rig atm, and I can't run the game past 75+ FPS.
To be 100% honest, I DO understand that 120fps may be a common thing for most people that do PC gaming these days, and ALSO that people want the leaderboards to be less clutered/more competitive (with less players spread across different categories), but PERSONALLY this is a decision that makes me both sad and unable to compete. :(
