Thx. and a staff would be from a Merchant (npc) at Firelink Shrine ? right ? I have sent some npc 's there.

I have . bonfire mentions: attune magic among other things . been there I can now put 'soul arrows' and 'hidden body' , they have filled the slot I am mentioning about , BUT it's semi transparent on the slot. which means I can not use them.(yet)

I am brand new to this Game and playing D.S for the 1st time .

I am in a situation where I do not seem to find a way to populate the sorcery slot(or magic slot ...i suppose).

I can not equip the 'soul arrow' or 'hidden weapon' etc , because the top slot is empty and remains empty.

what am I doing different here please ?( I am on Nintendo switch) *1 Hour Later : Now I have attunement = 13 , I can put some of the stuff in the 'slot' but they are still opaque . which means I still can not use them . I have intelligence to 18 and attunement to 13 ...but I see the slot filled but opaque( semi transparent stuff..like soul arrows). I still dont get it. what else do I need to kick this slot in ?
