Condensing several things into one thread:
A few days ago I routed out what 117 Exit would probably look like: Spoiler Warning
I've also LOTAD'd what some restriction categories could be: • No Sonic Shortcuts - It's worth noting this category also does All Castles since the branch paths are fastest going through each one. • Low - More accurately "(Almost) Low%", Pac has broken links across the site...
Other possibilities, regardless if they're realistic to actually speedrun: • Lunar Dragon - Although there's only 6 moons in total, using the same name as SMW's category makes more sense than "All Dragon Coins", and the rules transfer over, too. I've found some levels that have Dragon Coins but not 5 in total, which is weird. The sad part about this category is, while it makes the route follow the 'intended' path more, some levels are still skipped in nearly their entirety. • (Almost) No Cape - Along with (Almost) Low% above, the "Almost" part comes from the fact the very last level absolutely requires cape, so all other levels would forgo it, assuming it's possible. • (Almost) No Cape, No Sonic Shortcuts - I guess as a copy of "No Cape, No Starworld", but I don't see it being ran for longer than the others beside all exit ones.
And of course there's plenty of meme category possibilities which aren't worth bothering to mention until someone actually runs one.
Edit: Eh, I'll mention some anyway for my own entertainment. • Beat Thirdspace - This one isn't terribly unlikely for someone to run. • **(Almost) Small Mario, No Sonic Shortcuts ** - Low% should be possible if Yoshi is allowed, so the name is distinguished. • All Switches - Very possible, along with optional restrictions. • All Forts / Ghost Houses • Min Cape Max% - Now THIS is a good meme.
You can literally skip right to the last level, which makes it practically no different from an individual level run of it. If it's added at all, it'd probably be a Misc.
A sync is actually being worked on for Donkey Kong County so the groundwork will make it easier for a sync to be added for Mega Man.
@UbuntuJackson You can Google what feedback means instead of asking here.
Can you give an example of a column besides time that could be empty?
Toxicity will not be tolerated, consider this a warning
@Toxic_Pyro12 the game approver has been busy lately and will get to your request when he has the time.
@Shadow_Dog Can you elaborate on that?
Both are, yeah. Series is a bit more complicated because of how they work on the back end; would like to clean that up sometime.
If it's compelling enough there can be subcategories to separate the game modes.
Sure :)
- It's strongly encouraged to use and record an external timer like LiveSplit. It adds some credibility to your submissions. If you're only playing for fun and have trouble getting it to work with your recording software, don't worry about it.
- Yes and no. I made one some time ago but Blizzard has most likely broken it by now. If you plan on running the game I could try to fix it again.
- Yes they do. The IL records from campaign runs are just there for completion's sake. They are, by definition, speedrun attempts of the level, just maybe not using the optimal strats for said level.
@SUPERMALLEO You'd be surprised how difficult it is to make a private messaging system from scratch.
AFAIK the color has to be hard-coded for now. If you have specific colors in mind I can add them; my standard is a light gray at 75% opacity.
It can also be used to hide leaderboard columns if they only serve to cram the view. The platform column for PC only games is an example.
Edit: Applied said standard to your games. See how you like it.
It's a custom CSS I applied to most of the games I moderate. I'd like something like that to be there by default but I don't know how to squeeze it into the stylesheet elegantly.
If anyone would like something of that nature, feel free to ask.
