I wanted to congratulate you on beating my old Any% WR. I was really hoping someone would do that at some point. And you managed to do it so skillfully!
Thank you for your hard work, and for everything you've done for Time Commando.

I’m considering changing the timer measurement standard of fullgame from IGT to RealTime, and I’d like to hear your opinion.
Keep both. As you've noticed, TC benefits from both IGT and RT. Yet IGT tends to be the standard with speedrunning. For fairness and such.
If you take away IGT, then RT gets affected, and if you take away RT, then IGT gets affected. Can't really win here unfortunately.
RealTime makes it easier to measure player's time. Players can simply use a timer while playing the game and immediately see their results. This eliminates the need for precise IGT calculations. It also makes the rules easier to understand for new players starting to speedrun this game.
This is definitely important and a challenge to address. Which is why I believe it's best to keep both IGN and RT up. And just let the players choose what times they wish to compete with.
But I am willing to hear more suggestions on the topic. Nothing is set in stone :) And if you and azu believe that it is truly wiser to change it. Then we can certainly work towards doing that.
Whenever you submit a Time Commando speedrun. Please state what type of game client you are using to launch the game from (steam, gog etc).
Also, please state what type of controller you are using with your run (keyboard, gamepad etc).
A short paragraph will suffice. For example: GOG / Keyboard.
Thank you!
Thank you! I love this game since i was a kid.
Same :)
Thank you for founding this Leaderboard in SRC!
I'm just grateful you are here speedrunning. Tell me if you need anything changed (rules etc) and I'll see what I can do on my end.
I'll continue to get more speed.
Good luck my dude! And have fun with it!
Hello everyone!
I got a quick message suggesting that individual levels could be a good thing. So I added those. Hopefully the ui-layout is acceptable.
If anyone wants anything else changed/improved/added just message me or drop me a forum post here (I’ll notice/respond to forum posts quicker!) and I’ll do what I can.
Thank you and have a good day!
Thnx Oreo321 for clearing this up.
The solution was even more convoluted than thought imaginable. I would have never figured it out :D So ty.
Seems like I’ve tried everything to get the subcategories to work. I’ve tried all manner of weird combinations and nothing has worked out thus far.
Please see this img here:
As you can see whenever I add a new subcategory, the name of said subcategory does not show up. Instead I only get my difficulty values there. I am probably doing something very wrong here. All I want is for “Playstation” and “Saturn” to be in two separate subcategories under the main “Console” category. More or less like everyone else does it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone again!
I've gotten slightly paranoid after having found that time discrepancy in my previous post. And rather than being lazy/complacent about it I’ve decided to manually time my WR run. In doing so I also made a simple excel document that automatically tallies up your times. See the “Resource page” on here for it. The excel document also explains what markers to look for when timing your run.
The in-game level timers (the message that pops up after you complete a level) is still useful for us during regular speedruns (it’s still semi-accurate). Its just not accurate enough for us when needing to calculate the real in-game times. Thus, I figured I should try and mend it now rather than wait for it to become an issue down the line.
Hello everyone!
I noticed an inconsistency in the TC ingame timer (PC version only I think).
This discrepancy only affects the virus boss fight. My end level message states that I finished him in 03:08, but this is untrue as my actual time killing him is 01:11 (measured from the moment I get control, to the level end credits showing up).
I believe the game is erroneously trying to combine the previous level time of 01:50 with 01:11 (which is 03:01) to get the virus kill time. However its not quite accurate compared to the 03:08 end level message that we end up getting. And to be honest, I’m not entirely sure why it’s trying to combine the two times into one. The PS1 version of TC interestingly enough calculates the level times correctly. My assumption is that the devs fixed it during the porting process.
Of course I’ve checked all the other levels for any further irregularities, and I’ve not managed to find any. The only other noteworthy thing would be how the game measures the “Beyond time” levels.
Beyond time: Level 1. The timer works as normal during this parkour level. Level 2. The timer starts at the "red bear" boss and only stops after having killed the "blue alien" boss and freeing the woman (the end level message pops up here, so the timer also stops here). Its just that ALL the inbetween cutscenes and the "green demon" boss fight etc; is included within this level timer. So its more or less like normal—just slightly unintuitive/confusing on what’s actually being included—and where things starts/stops.
Just wanted to share this info.
Hello again :-)
I've followed these instructions (I think): "Habreno: @RK.Walnut : You would need to add at least one social media contact to your profile and enable MFA before we'd consider adding you to the game. We are aware there aren't any moderators currently for it." And I was wondering if I could become a mod now so that I can upload my runs? If not, then that's ok. I'll try again some other time.
Hello, I speedrun a game called "Time Commando" on and off for fun. https://www.speedrun.com/time_commando
I updated my time yesterday and I noticed that I suddenly need moderation for it. None except me seems to be all that interested in the game. I doubt I meet the requirements to become a mod for the game. Don’t have any social media accounts etc. But I’ll ask anyways. If I’m not allowed to mod then that’s fine. I’ll just stop uploading my clunky runs until a mod appears. Thank you, have a good day.
