As a follow up to this, I've been eyeing up running PGR1 (I mainly stick to Forza Motorsport), and do wish this page had something to go off of. I'd run it if I knew what was expected of each category, so there could at least be something for its nine page followers to actually compete against.
Some issues:
- There are no rules for any category, and no guidance on when timing starts and ends, or what is allowed and all that
- One submitted run that can't be found anywhere on the page, so no visual examples to go off of (although I suspect at 2m07s, it was only a random time trial to get the game verified)
- No individual levels/time trials
- No confirmed timing method (RTA or IGT or both etc.) for main categories
- No clarification if a HDD-modded OG Xbox is allowed, or if disc only
- It's not listed under X360 console category, but can technically be played on 360 despite suffering performance issues, just as it would on a PC emulator like Xemu (see here & here)
I don't mean this as a rude thing or a severe complaint. It would just be good if the page was in a state where someone - myself or anyone else - could complete a run with clear understanding of what to do, what not to do, and so on.
Additionally, since PGR1 did not have any online play or Xbox Live leaderboards, hosting time trials on this page would at least create a cohesive place for its players to compete on a track-by-track basis.
Just some food for thought, I guess. A vacant page that has existed for six years is quite disappointing. I think making @SpeedRunFan2022 a mod would at least allow someone to get this page into better shape.
Cheers for reading!
Perhaps a Glitchless and Glitch category should be made? I suspect the glitch-friendly category would be far more popular for time/sanity's sake.
Thanks, I was a bit worried if it would be rejected or not. The downside of me doing this is that it adds a lot more grinding into run prep for those wanting to better the time — but the upside is that it makes a lot of new strategies and choices available, so there's some pros and cons.
However, I won't be using this trick to take the Amateur Division. I like that one starting from 0 CR.
Thank you. You definitely should. I'm sure you can beat plenty of the times I've set in various time trials and the full categories. Good luck!
Schöner Lauf! Jetzt muss ich dich herausfordern. (Google übersetzt)
