Unless someone looking at another's profile goes on each leaderboard and sees that the runner is only low on the board because of a slower version, then they only know a wrong representation of how good or bad the runner is. But that's just one person who doesn't bother to look at each leaderboard and filter versions. The sub-community of the game, who are the only people that can be good peers to the runner, and more importantly the runner themselves will see the board and know that the runner has beaten the game with a very respectable time considering their version or specs (if they have done a good run). On an added note, at least some of the sub-community would know the differences between versions e.g. Crash 2's emulator vs PS2 FDS, and for PC, while not all games have them yet, loadless timers are available for some of the larger games e.g Mirror's Edge, Portal. It's just a case of each individual sub-community figuring out differences/finding out how to remove loads (there is always the tedious job of going through the video with software that can frame advance for the most accuracy), and it's each sub-community that matters to each game. Anyone who comes in wondering about it can be informed, anyone else who just glances and doesn't look into it doesn't really matter.
You seem to have a flaw in your first two points in that you're basing this around two sub-communities (TS2, which I'm sure had N64, PS1, and PC separated before, and 102 Dalmations). It seems more you found flaws in a couple of sub-communities, not the entire speedrunning community. Let me list just a few of the games that have different sections for different versions:
- Harry Potter 2 6th gen - PS2 separated from Xbox and GCN, because PS2 has less glitches, and more Prefects that can ruin the night sections
- A Bug's Life
- The Gex series
- Most of the Resident Evil games
- Glover
- Quantum of Solace - PS2 as a separate game altogether, PC and Console separated for the 7th gen version.
- The Italian Job This is a list that contains a range of sub-communities from the small (Italian Job, Quantum of Solace) to the large (Resident Evil).
On another point, like FurryWulfz said, there are drop-down lists to separate platforms and regions - a good example of this is Harry Potter 1 PS1, as the WR holder has the WR for the fastest version, obviously,(NTSC-C(Canada - it's a long story)), 2nd place for the slowest (PAL) and 2nd for a random one (NTSC-J) which you can see when you filter them. One runner solely plays on PAL, which is years slower due to frame-rate and possibly movement, but he's respected as a legend in the community, even though he's bottom of the overall leaderboard.
And finally, like Ankoku said, it's just games (says the guy who just typed a slightly heated few paragraphs). Play them fast with whatever version you have to beat whatever goal you make for yourself, instead of being uptight about fastest versions and WR competition - but if competition is what you enjoy, splash out on the fastest stuff because it'll be worth it for that thrill, and if you can't splash out, try to be competitive with people on the same version. In the end, aren't we all winners for doing something we enjoy with people who enjoy it too? Too cheesy? I'll stop :/
I don't understand why all games can't be like the first three Harry Potter instalments and have completely different games for each platform. OUTRAGEOUS (tbhimook)
I have a confession to make. I have used performance-enhancing drugs in my PBs. I use the drugs named 'laxatives' in order to make my bowel movements faster so I can, myself, go faster. I sincerely apologize to anyone I have hurt, and thus resign from all of my moderator posts and my status as a known legend in the HP community.
Edit: Side-note: What do we do when beta blockers are obsoleted by final-version blockers? Do we put the beta blockers into Misc.?
I have a proposal for timing that I want to share with the community instead of forcing it into place (that's bad moderating). I've posted this in the Series forum as well.
There is a file timer in the games, and as this would be a universal timer and is common to use in other communities (e.g. Sonic, 007 Agent Under Fire, Axiom Verge), this would be a good use, but also a possibly bad use.
Advantages:
- Universal timer - Game-time is more reliable than real-time in terms of loading times and lag (although the 3DS doesn't have problems with these, if I recall correctly)
- Runners without a capture card can post proof as a picture of their file with the time, opening the game up to more people
Disadvantages:
- Runners without video proof may also be able to get away with segmented runs, which would be against the new ruleset if game-time was implemented
- Current runs may be invalid unless they either a) know the game-time or b) use real-time as game-time
However, currently some runners with only split proof have been accepted; this may hopefully address the disadvantages, as using both real-time with splits along with game-time should be enough proof, and may also be able to roughly distinguish the difference between real-time and game-time so that current runs can have an estimated game-time.
These are just my thoughts. Like I said, I think it'd open up the games to more people who want to run it but don't have a capture card, at the cost of a little bit of vulnerability to cheaters.

If someone did a run on one version/region, and then a faster run on a separate version/region, only the faster run would show for that runner.
You need Individual Levels categories as well. It's below Individual Levels.
Have you added levels as well as categories via the Edit game page? There are two tables and the leaderboards will only show up when there is one thing in both of them.

Hmm, that's odd. I guess you should contact the current game moderators, like Bullets said, via Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, whatever sites they've linked in their profile.
The person who requested the game to the site is automatically made supermod, and he/she can add other supermods and standard mods. If the game is in a series, if a box is checked in Edit game to add them, the overall series' supermods are also supermods for the game.
I've been messing around with this on and off since last May. It works in the same way as Statue skip in Transfiguration - ledge-grabbing where an object's collision covers the ledge clips you into it and pushes you straight out (known as a proxy) and this speed carries on into your jump. This has been very close with almost the highest possible proxy speed, and, if it gets over to the ledge on the left, a jump from there to the further ledge would skip most of the dungeon, saving nearly 8 minutes.
Because speedrunning is a sign of a psychopath ready to destroy the real world like they destroy video game worlds. Pac secretly works for the United Nation's Cyber-security Department (like the NSA but with more countries in) and so forces us to keep our information public, or use private messaging on sites already checked by the governments of the world such as Twitter. Open your eyes, sheeple.
Serious answer: Sorry, this isn't ready yet.
I like it, could be useful for 100% or Any% fire seed skipless.
This is for any weird stuff found in the game. This can be from not-useful skips to odd happenings to very minor time-savers.
useful for 100% if there's a way to do it backwards:
