The current WR uses a free-scrolling scroll wheel, which means that they can scroll the mouse once every couple of seconds and let the momentum carry it. A demonstration can be found here.
Though I don't have an opinion on the "one body-movement per click" rule, this certainly does not follow it.
I'm biased, but I'd, of course, like it to be removed or relegated to a separate category. My personal opinion is that only version 2.0 and above should be allowed (or 1.0466 and above, as that's still accessible on the official website and it appears that it will continue to be for the foreseeable future).
Quick note about the difference in golden cookies between 1.036 and 1.0466:
In 1.036, the chance of a golden cookie being a Click Frenzy is ~2.44%. In 1.0466, the chance of a golden cookie being a Click Frenzy is ~4.76%.
The time for a golden cookie to spawn in 1.036 ranges linearly from five minutes to fifteen minutes. The time for a golden cookie to spawn in 1.0466 ranges in a cumulative normal distribution from five minutes to fifteen minutes.
In essence, this means that playing in 1.0466 is just under twice as likely to yield a successful run, but a successful run in 1.036 is generally much faster.
It's practically not the same game anyway. Runs from before 2.0 should probably not be on the same leaderboard.
Any moderators want to add the relevant categories to the leaderboards?
Probably would be a lot more fun.
Here's a 1M cookies run without golden cookies.
