We have it like this because it's simply ease of use for runners. There are not many categories in this game, so it doesn't take up much space. The other more concrete reason is because each category is quite different from the others. Goals change entirely and so do the routes, even within just Any%. I know it may not "look" clean but it's there for a reason.

Also nobody cares about all story goals. It will remain in misc. hell forever.
