I don't know how consoles could affect your milliseconds tho. For example PAL runs on a lower framerate, which makes frame perfect tricks easier. Also the lag on 360 does not affect RTA, which is a good thing, but may is not accurate enough. So frames seem a little bit off depending on the system you're running on. At least, thats what i think. It may only affect WR pace runs with a lot of frameboosts, which are really optimized. I would keep the second timing to score method tbh, since we really can't tell if 1 frame on OG xbox f.e. is 1 frame on 360 xbox as well. (it won't be on RTA, but lag might affect timers system depending? =))

Hello there !

I was "only" a viewer during the event but gladly could catch most of the runs, as well as chat activities.

First up, thank you very much for the organisation, thanks to the runners, staff and mods or anyone participating in the event it self. It was truly a blast for me and many others.

I can't say anything about what was going on "behind the scenes", so i try my best to give the best feedback as a viewer. =)

1. As mentioned before, the layout was a bit empty. I didn't mind the simplicity with its color tbh, but a bit more information would be really good. (twitch pages, etc.) I think everything around that has been said multiple times now, so no need to go more in detail. =)

2. The room felt empty very often. I remember that we in chat often helpen to get at least 1-2 guys in the background to join the couch, if there was no one else in the room and if they did it got a lot more familiar and seemed to chill the runner as well having somebody at his side. At some points it really got cozy (f.e. with couch guy 1 + 2 and tech + pizza guy on the couch FeelsGoodMan) and it seemed less stiff and way more chilled. I know its hard to have more people around at night times for example, but a bit more people in the audience to "hype" things about would may create an even better experience for runner and chat as it would feel more like an event and not like 1 lonely guy sitting on a couch by himself with nobody to talk to. =D

3. Which brings me to the next point: Chat for the runner and commentator. At some point during a late night run, chat requested if we could get the runner a Laptop, so he can read chat. He did get one and chat was all hyped up, the runner could easily respong to questions or messages while there may was nothing to say about the run and it felt like the viewers were part of the audience at your place !

4. It was mentioned before, that chat sometimes was offensive, which I actually have to disagree. Most of the time chat was very chilled, having fun, supporting the runners and tech crew. I rarely saw some stupid jokes and if so, they were mostly ignored by the rest of the audience. Whenever I personally was active in chat, there was at least the donation reader and one mod available doing their job. Maybe another mod watching would be good tho, if things like racist jokes or anything like that happen.

That beeing said, great event, keep up the good work !

Dolphin is decent for casual gameplay, but idk if its viable for speedrunning.

i actually like that stuff, got some good old fashion ds synths in it, otherwise its some bad turnup step.

@MelonSlice: Yes there are a couple for every kind of system. I only played the ones for GBA, which is Gundam Battle Assault and Gundam Seed Destiny and another one for the psp (i think it was Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus, if I remember correctly). Anyway, there a really tons of games for every system to pick up :)

Hey MelonSlice! :3 Thanks a lot for replying! Gundam games are very funny to play, to watch, i dont even know. It may be depressing to watch runs on stream, since you can mostly reset after the run is done (most of the time saves will come from different stages and are so luck depending, that you can be 15 mins into a run and finish it or then have to reset, because you get bad patterns. BUT ! that kind of keeps the categories exciting as well, because you'll never going to know if a runs good or bad and you will finish it anyways :D For the arcade + single route runs its always fun tho. I actually really missed to introduce myself on these forums, I apologize!

I'm PandaBURRR or BURRR for short. I mostly enjoy anime games, especially anything Mobile Suit Gundam related. I submitted a couple of games by now, mostly ones I played years ago and started to pick up again for the sake of speedrunning it. I know, that speedrunning battle/fighting games isn't really a thing, since its so luck depending, but that's actually what makes it so much fun for me, since every run can be good (or really bad :D). Atm, I am only running Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed (PS2) and Kidou Senshi Gundam Seed Destiny: Rengou (or OMNI) vs. Z.A.F.T. Plus II. The first one is more of a Sidescroller Arcade Game (which follows the plot of the MSG SEED Series Anime), the second one is the typical Arcade 3D enviroment fighting game you know nowadays from the gundam series.

I'd really love to build a community around the Gundam Series for speedrunning, tho it's not that popular outside of japan (except for example some really good runners like Spacegy4 for Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (SNES) and Cgobs for the GBA games)). So maybe we can get a discord channel up and running for these kind of games (yeah, there are a lot, but its all about the love for them mobile suits) I'm kinda clueless how to do so, so if you're interested in any kind of way, let me know in this thread or message me on my twitter. =)

I don't really care about getting WRs, Speedrunning introduced me to have so much fun playing games from my past, just faster. ^____^
