# About the Event

Submissions are *now open* for **Lady Arcaders: Out of Bounds Toronto;** an in-person women & femme speedrunning event taking place on **Tuesday, June 18th, 2024** (time TBD)! Folks will play games as quickly as possible, showing off their talents and challenging themselves! The event will also be broadcast online to our [Twitch](https://twitch.tv/ladyarcaders) channel. Everyone’s welcome to join the fun!

This event is in participation with [Toronto Games Week 2024](https://torontogamesweek.com). The event runs from **June 13-19th**. Toronto Games Week is a celebration of playable arts and culture! It is a collective coordination of events organized independently by dozens of organizations, creators, curators, and companies.

Out of Bounds will be held on the second floor of [See-Scape](https://www.seescapeto.com), a sci-fi bar and gaming cafe. **Please note that this location is not accessible as it requires climbing a set of stairs to get to the event area.** The venue will have seating space. There will be food, drinks, and alcoholic drinks available for purchase at the venue. Masks are strongly encouraged and will be provided at the door if you have forgotten to bring your own.

- Run submissions close 11:59pm on March 31st, 2024.
- Schedule released the week of April 8th, 2024.
- Volunteer submissions close 11:59pm on April 14th, 2024.
- Volunteers notified the week of April 22nd, 2024.
- Event takes place on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024 in Toronto, ON.

# Submission Notes

You can submit your run to the event through [Oengus](https://oengus.io/marathon/laoobt-24).

- This is a women & femme speedrunning event, all performers must be women! All women are welcome, whether you're cis, trans, non-binary, or part of a marginalized group!
- This is an IN PERSON EVENT that will also be live streamed online. **That means you must be able to perform this in person, on location, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.** You must be able to transport your game, console, controller, and/or any other accessories required to run your game. We will have a PC for games run on PC.
- We may have a slight preference for Canadian content. Bonus points for Toronto-made games.

Lady Arcaders announce their first in-person event in Toronto, Canada

I'm guessing there's still no plan to support an alternative like therun.gg, which is a shame because splits.io is shutting down after all.

Really cool to see a speedrun event in Canada.  We don't get nearly enough of them.

Flash carts are also an option.  EB doesn't use an enhancement chip or anything so a basic Everdrive would get the job done, and it's at least a lot cheaper than an EB cart.  That would allow for original hardware, at least for the console, and would be region-free.

The question was about practice, not verified runs, so no issue there.  The Switch's suspend menu should work fine for practicing RNG manip, given that it's essentially an emulator save state.  I've found even save states on a flash cart on real hardware, as glitchy as that can be, maintains the RAM values for RNG.
