True Legacy for the ancient is the best choice. Glitchless has some shit 16 cube hacks that isn't easy for begginers (watch the UD for more info) The current oob route has to many complicated mechanics for begginers but is very repetitive, so I guess it could be fine if you can learn few tricks. Inbounds requires learning a lot of SG routes. Current Legacy has AAG/LAG so shrug.
It's too late to do that, will the sun, newcommers have adopted it as their new parents.
'Source Unpack is requiered for Egde Glitches and Save Gltiche' No, EG & SG works aswell in Steampipe. It's just that the mechanics of being stuck is different so it's harder to setup the "stuck" part of an EG. For 04 SG, this wall is very hard to SG on in Steampipe. However some EG & SG like the old SG route for 19 works fine in Steampipe.
But, as Ace said, it's better to have the Source Unpack v2 (not the v1 that doesn't exit :^) ... ) to run Inbounds.
Maybe I am retarded but isn't HL2 crosshair the same as Portal crosshair ? Maybe you are talking about the HUD ? Or the suit crosshair ?
I meant , can you do a video for the newest strats, please ?
I've recompiled _a_10 and it worked and I have no clue why it worked.
Videos for the newest strats? I am glad my discoveries appear useful.
Hello,
I have a question about Hammer. A while ago, I had some problems about Hammer for testchmb_a_10 and escape_02. I remember some people gave ideas to solve it but I didn't really paid attention. I couldn't end compiling escape_02 and testchmb_a_10 crashed on running.
There is a conflict between those, DefaultGuy keeps trolling him, and Yzanas bans him from Discord server. I solved the problem with a pseudo-equilibrium where both are on the same discord, with Yzanas blocking DefaultGuy. Default Guy keeps shitposting and insulting but instantly deletes his post and it's really annoying, I was thinking about giving punitions but I am not creative enough and I am not sure it would be useful
'I'm assuming, by extension, that if you go out of bounds accidentally and don't profit from it, you're fine and don't have to reload a save. It's pretty heavily implied, at least.' Did you read the previous message ? I said that going out of bounds, even by accident isn't something good at all. I am just going to take an example : if you saveglitch, then move backward oob, does it count ? The current rules states that yes, since you haven't profited from it; however, it's not because it's written that it's good. I hope someone will not post something like "oh, rules state that if it doesn't profit from going oob, then it's fine" again; it's not because something is written that it's good.
'In the rules it is stated that if you accidentally go oob and DO benefit from it, you have to load the latest save. I dont think you have to if you dont benefit from it' Thanks, I can read too. I implicitely asked if it was a good thing to allow to go oob, even if you don't profit from it.
Hello, I have a question about the Inbounds category rules. I was watching some Portal runs, when I wondered about when something is out of bounds. At first, let's talk about walls, no matter the skins (usually nodraws are the most discussed because they are invisible). Is going in a wall allowed ? If I remember correctly, it is. Basically you consider the bounds as 'not oob', which is a fine definition. Hammer > View > Find Coordinates remains a safe way to check if a point in space is in oob with that definition.
However, if your body goes oob, even by accident, is it allowed ? I mean I can understand that if you peek out of bounds, you might no want to reset and so you reload your save. But if you walk oob, even by accident, during your sg, and then come back inbounds to continue your sg sequence, without profiting from going oob, is it allowed ? I am really curious about that.
I am not a magician, so the solution for this is "Ask Yalter" as stated by the "Ask Yalter" meme.
- Download Source Unpack
- Extract the archive in a blank folder
- Double click Portal.bat If you haven't done that, it might not work. If you have done that, either the path on the .batman is wrong; or the files are corrupted. If the path on the .batmobile is invalid, just fix it with your path. If the files are corrupted, redownload the unpack archive maybe ?! Else, I have no clue
The video is useless, it's been for quite a while that various strategies existed to shoot GlaDOS. About your request, here is something I can say : Glitchless doesn't literally mean glitchless. One, glitches are mostly subjective. Two, glitchless rules are just a finite set of rules that the community agreed to run against. Three, for Portal, there are several tricks/abuse that were considered a glitch when I ran the game but are now not considered a glitch anymore Four: I understand your request, but it's very unlikely that it will make things change anyways, you can still request Glitchless with Turret Kill in http://www.speedrun.com/Portal_Category_Extensions if you want to run against that Five: Various logic_relay entities agree to the fact that killing GlaDOS in a non-floor_turret NPC wasn't intended at all.
'What ive found is if you stand between the bottom and second bottom step and jump in the portal you get enough speed to make it' LOL, it's been known for quite a while. Place a portal as shown on many videos With portal funneling on, jump from the stairs, crouch midair, shoot circa 30 HU below the ceiling midair as soon as you pass the orange portal.
