So it would be on your computer? If you find one please link it to me so I can check it out
Great job, Tonic! I think we need an annual demographic survey more than anything at this point. It would give us a better picture of who your average speedrunner is. Age, gender, race/ethnicity, education level, country, etc. -- and in ten years, we can see shifts and trends in the data. To the next person creating a survey: Consider adding basic demographic questions!
I know that can be time consuming but its better than rerecording and splitting. I generally use a program called ShotCut to do timer editing, although there are tons of options out there.
https://www.shotcut.org/download/ In ShotCut, I use the "Crop" and "Size and Position" filters on the timer to overlay it on the gameplay. Here's an example of what it'll look like: https://www.speedrun.com/run/mekv27qm
Hey! I'm going to ask some iOS runners how they do timing -- I'll be back.
Edit: It looks like most iOS users use a video editor to put a timer over their video. They download something like this and throw it in the corner:
Why would you need an emu instead of a phone app? Please explain how that would work (I'm open to this idea but Im curious as to why you need it)
The Nitrome Wiki Discord community does this on a weekly basis in a google hangout every Saturday night! They randomize the game selection based on what people submit in a google form and then try to get as far as possible in the game within 40 minutes. Seems like a great idea to me :D
speedrun.com/Cat_Bird game creator, Raiyumi, has joined our Discord! (Link in our page forum)
Check out the game, see if you like it, and join us in praising this awesome indie developer!

What do you use? Your suggestions will help new runners!!
Upon request, I'll make a Discord where community members can chat and talk strategy! Please like this message or reply if you're interested :D
I record a PC emulator using Fraps and time with LiveSplit.

What do you use? I'm not sure how to record on a GBA or GBC, so any suggestions would be great!
Hey guys! The Discord has been very chatty lately about a new update coming within the next couple weeks! It will be coming with fixes to Worlds 1-3 and a new World 4.
That being said, All World Any% and 100% runs will be deleted¤ when a new world is released, since they no longer qualify. This is true for future updates, as well. Please keep this in mind when you run!
¤see below: Instead of deleting, we will move them to a miscellanious category.
I don't think we need NG+, since players should play the levels in order. For timing, RTA seems like the way to go.
Is it this line in the rules that confused you? "Although it may qualify for multiple records, an endurance run can only be submitted once. This will help us maintain an accurate rice count."
You can do as many endurance runs as you want, as long as you have separate videos for each! This above is just saying you should not submit the same video of a Basic Math run for
- Basic Math Endurance
- Math All Subjects Endurance
- and an All Subjects Endurance run, even though it qualifies for all three.
Does that make more sense? Let me know how I could change the rules to clear it up
