@firelitr I don't speedrun the game, and my memory of my casual playthrough from years ago is cloudy. But allow me to raise some counter-evidence:

  • You can clearly see the difficulty select at the start of all runs. This is one of the submission rules.
  • You say that enemies can't die in 1 hit in hard mode. Ever heard of combo moves? I don't know what the top runners are doing exactly in terms of inputs, but it's clearly working, just by looking on the fight at the start.
  • You say that the top runs in hard and easy difficulties (in this case, for the PS3) differ by only 15 seconds, and that counts as "evidence". Well, it can mean at least two other things: either the runs don't really differ even with extra difficulty, or the run in easy difficulty is not optimized.

Lets take Speed.Gunner runs for comparison, with a difference of 21 seconds:

  • Their last easy difficulty run was in November 2019, and their livesplit says 94 total attempts.
  • Their last hard difficulty run was just 2 days ago, and their livesplit says 1145 total attempts. Clearly much more effort was put in the hard difficulty run, and optimizing it. The easy difficulty run probably used outdated strats or routes, dunno.

By looking on the runs directly side-by-side (I only watched the first 5 minutes, but that was enough): https://viewsync.net/watch?v=2uqzKHHleww&t=3944.24&v=6lG5zWxaA58&t=151.36&mode=solo

You can see that the fights in the hard difficulty are indeed longer than the easy difficulty. I'm not gonna watch the whole thing, but clearly the hard difficulty run makes up for this "lost time" elsewhere.

If this runner decides to run the easy difficulty once again, who knows how much faster it would be with current knowledge of the game.

By looking on all the games in the "Gauntlet" series ( https://www.speedrun.com/gauntlet ), it doesn't seem that "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition" is on speedrun.com. You can try requesting that game to the site yourself. However, one of the rules for requesting games is that they must have a definitive end. I don't know anything about this game; but by looking at the game description and your question, this is an endless auto-generated rouge-like game, so perhaps it will not be accepted for this reason.

Html5 games are playable on the web just fine, it doesn't have to be Flash games specifically. There are also free downloadable games from Steam, Itch.io and similar.

That being said, @AdvaitWahiGamesYT , do you have any preferable genre at all? Platformers, RPG, etc? The requirement of free games narrows it down by so much.

  1. You can be patient until your account is 7 days old, no one else will do it for you.
  2. You can speedrun games even when they are not on this site.

Open Livesplit settings, and you will see this window: https://i.imgur.com/YVZZloX.png

You want to enable "Global Hotkeys" so that you can activate Livesplit anywhere, no matter what window is in focus. You also want to set hotkeys for several actions, like start/split. The default for that is NumPad0.

Pretty sure you just have to edit the run, and submit it without changing anything; that should link OhMati to the run. Note that it will send the run back to the verification queue.

  1. Don't delete runs unless you really want them deleted; it won't solve any problem, and as you said, it might change the WR history.
  2. The two runs showed together on the leaderboard, probably means it was set with "Platforms obsolete each other" or "Regions obsolete each other" set to NO in the settings. In that case, two runs by the same runner but on different regions (PAL/NTSC/JAPAN) will both show on the board.
  3. You can submit your deleted run once again, it doesn't matter that you have a faster run on the leaderboard. Just set the date to the correct date you did the run, instead of today date.
