I'm curious. In the games list, or in any series, you can filter the search by "Show unofficial releases".
I noticed that some of the games I moderate are "official", and some are not (all are web games by the way). I also didn't mentioned anything about being "official" when I requested the games.
Yes, that's kinda weird. If you search for the game in the games list, like this: https://www.speedrun.com/games#title=The%20Simpsons%20game you do see the game.
I haven't done any of these myself, but what you want to do is first request a series to be added (you will be the moderator of that series). That series will be empty.
For any future game you request, you can ask for the game to be added to that series. For adding exist games, use this thread: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/5twus/
The raw files themselves don't have this issue. but regarding bitrate, I see two things: OBS is not consistent in the final output. In some games the bitrate is between 3000-6000kbps, and in other games it can reach 1000-2000kbps. (although the resolution and frame rate stay the same). Also, any kind of post-processing I'm doing on some of my videos (usually cutting a long video to the relevant portion of a run), cuts the bitrate by about half.
YouTube mostly change the quality on videos with less than 2000kbps bitrate, but not all of them.
I guess I can look more at the editing program I use to see that it won't happen (I use ShotCut). About OBS, is there a way to ensure a certain level of bitrate?
in my OBS settings --> Output --> Recording, I have those settings:
I found a little bug in the forum messages, as soon as I learned how to use quotes.
If you write a quote with only the opening tag, and not the closing tag, the quote is displaying just fine,
but if you want to edit your message with the quote then it goes to a blank slate with no possible options:
In short, the answer is yes. Some exist examples: https://www.speedrun.com/simpsons https://www.speedrun.com/rayman https://www.speedrun.com/pokemon https://www.speedrun.com/lego
There may be some games in each series which are direct sequels one of another, but in general the main common thing for those games is the franchise itself. Many of the games are even in different consoles.
I use OBS to record my runs from PC, in 1080p resolution with 60fps framerate. I just noticed that on many of my old and recent videos uploaded to YouTube, those videos still look kinda blurry in some places, even when you watch them at the highest quality on full screen (even the part of the static Livesplit text is affected).
Why does it happen? And how can I ensure it won't?
RTA time is used in the leaderboard instead of IGT, because it is much simpler to compare between runs. To quote the developer:
[quote] The timer goes up whenever the player is playable. So it starts when the first small cutscene of the game is finished, and ends when the final little cutscene is triggered (so that's a bit after the yellow arrow). The timer is paused during all cutscenes and textboxes, and it still saves when dying or quitting the game. [/quote]
Can you please specify how do I write quotes? I tried using quote tags like this: <quote> here is a quote </quote> but it doesn't appear to be working.
Better post it here: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/g79jt
