I'm up for having some sort of bio section on the user profile.
It'd double as a place we could also define our preferred contact method and how long it'd probably take to respond. I think it could help make getting in contact with game moderators a lot easier.
Edit: I agree regarding the forum signatures. They always eat up so much space. It'd also ruin the flow of the revered Don't Break The Chain thread.
Okay, I was gonna say kirbo for this, but I can't deny that

Man, my setup is s c u f f e d compared to these.
Especially Pepsi-guy's setup.
Yeah, you've still got options when it comes to recording DS/GBA if you've got a 3DS capture card and a GCN. If you need something to record the Gamecube with, the GV-USB2 is an excellent capture card for it.
Still wish I had a 3DS capture card, though I know the number of games I'd play on it are less than what I would on the DS.
Long as I remember The chain been comin' down Posts of memes pourin' Confusion on the board Site mods through the ages Tryin' to find the end And I wonder Still, I wonder Who'll stop the chain
I ran from Forum/Talk Seekin' shelter from the storm Caught up in the posts I watched the count grow Copypastas and new things Wrapped in endless chains And I wonder Still, I wonder Who'll stop the chain
Heard the runners chattin' How they cheered for more The crowd had rushed together Tryin' to hit hundred Still, the chain kept goin' Fallin' on my ears And I wonder Still I wonder Who'll stop the chain

CRT is fantastic on NES games, Wii games not so much
I've already posted about it before, but Iris and the Giant happens to be one of my favorite speedgames. If you like card combat, puzzle games, or things with just a bit of RNG, you might like it as well. It's very accessible overall and can even be run one-handed.
The only runner is really just me, and while I haven't made any guides yet, I'm more than happy to share strats. There's even two categories I haven't had the time to get to yet, if you like routing solo. You can find it here: https://www.speedrun.com/iris_and_the_giant
I'll be getting around to trying to run some of these when I get the time. Haven't got much cash to spend right now either, but you know what, I'll do at least one run for everything posted in here and in the other thread at some point. I'm making it a personal goal. Some of my best experiences have come from games looking for runners, so why not aim for that again?
Besides, it's more likely to create communities than my usual searching for completely dead games.
You see, doing runs takes a lot of time, time that's better throwin' out opinions and postin'
(For real, not everyone on the site is a runner, some folks are just spectators)
I ain't got a pic for ya, hoss, but I've got a 15 year old, mega size DVR that I use to play them "conned soul" games off a right tiny CRT
O' course, it's all hooked up and goin' to RF signals, so the picture's nice and clear- clear like the horizon of an industrial district in the big city.
It's a right mess in 'ere, what with the fammycom, switcheroo, and that white we box all in the same spot
Personally, my favorite thing in speedrunning is the routing. It's a complex puzzle with all sorts of questions to be answered, and I just love it. As result, my favorites are usually RPGs of some kind, or anything with a significant strategic element. Though, that being said, I don't particularly like menuing or dialogue mashing so it's a bit conflicted. I do like games with lots of action as well, but I have to be sparing on those thanks to my less than sturdy hands.
I'm just plain awful at platformers though.
On the topic of webgames, I think a good bit of the appeal for webgames is simply how short they can be sometimes. It's a lot easier to grind as well as simply finding the time for them. Run length is something I haven't seen mentioned yet, in fact. I lean towards preferring runs around 20 minutes to an hour, but I'll put up with as long as 3 hours. Any longer than that, and I find it difficult to find the time for running the game.
@Oreo321 It is a very obvious statement, I suppose. This is what I get for posting at 3 AM- my brain doesn't know if wants to meme or be helpful.
I mean, even when I was at my best I don't think I could beat the game deathless. Still, Super Gravitron was a great way to kill time.
@Oreo321 Same here, dude, cat goes fast. I've come close to finishing it, but I keep getting tripped up on the weapon swaps. It's definitely a game that's at a bit faster pace than I'm used to.
As for the categories, I think this is a pretty good solution for now. I have to wonder myself about how One-life runs compare to Normal runs that don't die, but I think it might be best to wait and see until those runs are done.
VVVVVV gets easier, eventually
I mean, at least the aerial movement is consistent
