Ah, assumed Genesis didn't cause it looked the same. Nice catch with only one ending too!

So, I was messing around with some stuff, and it appears as though the Genesis and GameGear version are very different. The main issue being that there doesn't actually appear to be any sort of end game available.

I'm not sure it's really worth making a category in particular for them, as I can't imagine one outside something like "one million dollars" which appear like it could be accomplished with cheats very quickly, or something like win a hand at all 11 games or something.

In any case, just wanted to throw it out there that Any Ending and Best Ending don't appear to apply for these console versions. I did not test the PS version yet.

Honestly might be worth checking out http://forum.pj64-emu.com/ and seeing if you can get some help with the software specifically having issues with your comp. Hacked ROMs are sure are sort of finicking, but if it works for others, it really shouldn't be too much of a problem. But if the issue happens even on normal games, they might be able to assist more.

discussione: Talk

Then yeah, hard to say. I run PJ64 and Bizmark and never had a crash before, or seen the problems described.

I'd imagine it's probably related to graphics card configuration, but that's just a first guess.

discussione: Talk

You can try Project64.

Bizhawk doesn't suck dirt, so the problem probably isn't with the emulator itself.

@SpiderSponge Had runs up on YouTube before joining the site, I'd imagine.

@Punchy I figured some sort timing/rule/platform issue was at play. The "self-verification" works for the most part, concerning runs with videos attached, because even if someone self-verifies and does something dumb, literally anyone can just verify again by just watching the video or looking at the run.

I mean, it's not like if someone self-verifies something illegitimate, the run is forever set in stone, and no one is capable of touching or fixing anything.

It's not here because no one has ran it before. So it's up to if you'd like to request the game, and then once accepted, to essentially develop the leaderboard for it. Never played it before, so not sure how levels work; but if it's one of those games where there is no end, just continuous accumulation of points, then "Beat Level 13" and "Beat Level 26" seem like reasonable categories if there is no true endgame.

discussione: The Site

Well, hard to say much without being able to see relevant details... without that, the most appropriate thing to do would be to ask the person who submitted the run and/or bring up in the forum relevant to the game so the discrepancy can be addressed (instead of just sitting there)...

discussione: The Site

What do the rules say in the game?

discussione: The Site

Don't know about the specifics of the game as it wasn't name, but generally a timer starts as soon as the player has control over something. If you push "start new game" and the first thing that happens is a cutscene before you ever get a chance to push anything, then it doesn't really make much sense to start the timer at "start new game."

Looks pretty cool. Got a lot of hype there too.

With OBS, I can more or less capture any visual thing my computer can generate regardless of anything; it runs smoothly (better than I expect given my hardware), doesn't drop any frames for me, and, well... works pretty well and efficiently. I haven't had a reason to explore outside of it tbh.

That and when I messed around with it, the interface was all wonky, and it only appeared to recognize a couple steam games I had. Getting it set up also just involved another series of product registrations and account creations which I didn't really see the point of.

Seems like if you get the raw data (which is something I assume can be done through API, but I know nothing about it) you could control for outliers, though you'd have to use... STATISTICS (something else I know very little about).

@16bitkiller It's because the game page has "console only" filter set as default instead of "console & emulators." If you switch the filter your run shows up.

Ah, didn't think about the splits. Tbf, I'm not sure the plugin would do much in reducing delay. Never worked with video, but I do in music, and working with delay is just part of it; it's just a matter of reducing it. Video I imagine the same way.. the shorter your cords the better. In audio about 1 foot of cord translates to 1ms delay, and I imagine it's worse with video.

Not sure what you are playing, but if it has autosplits, that would probably help a lot.

Outside that though, hopefully someone smarter than me or has had some similar experiences can offer a bit more insight.

EDIT: Timmiluvs ftw on split delays.

Never played with the plugin, so I couldn't help much on that front.

However, just a side note, if it comes to it, you can add the delay on your timer in LiveSplits. So if the video delay coming into OBS via capture card is consistent (say like .300 seconds) delay or something, then you can start your timer at -.300 seconds. That way when you start your timer and push the first input for game play they will appear matched up by the time the video is getting recorded in OBS.
