I get sad when I see others get angry at Uumuu. Sad, because I know that they’re actually angry at themselves, for having terrible Watcher Knight and Hollow Knight fights. Because Uumuu is so easy to optimize, they take their anger out on him, becoming more and more insecure and never addressing their own personal problems. I just wish more people understood that RNG doesn’t ruin runs: speedrunners ruin runs.

there is already a category which is basically just beat hornet and kill an aluba, its called a1uba% dont think hornet% would make much sense when this exists tbh

there is a separate modding api for every patch, the one for 1.5 (scarab) will only work on 1.5 you can ask for it in the speedrunning discord, as well as mods for 1221

you dont need an ending autosplit, it will automatically split the final one when it detects an ending (in this case godhome ending)

theres also a website made by slaurent where you can download premade splits with autosplits, and theres also route notes for pretty much every category that exists

i saw that rusty did a video on that, the total kill count at the end was 20 i think (including environmental kills). he did a pretty good job explaining the route and stuff so i recommend watching that, i cant get the link atm but maybe someone else can

there’s a shade skip used in true ending to get to dream nail before claw. the way you do it is after getting dash you go to salubra and die at the right side as you would in any%. after that get soul and lure the shade up by jumping. the order of actions is this: damage tank, parry-pogo, fireball, pogo, fireball, pogo. the fireballs are used for stalling in the air so the shade can fly higher than it would with just pogos.

also, the things you call formats are called speedrun categories, or just categories. they basically say what the objective of the speedrun is

if youre editing/adding splits, then dont forget to click “save splits”, if its your first time saving them for that route it will ask you to choose a location for the file, after that you can open them at any time. if you are editingn them further then you also need to click on “save splits”, but this time it wont ask you to choose a location since you already have the file saved. every time you try to close the timer without saving your splits (if it was either new best times or split changes) it will ask you if you want to save them.

the quickest strategy is the second room in greenpath, the one with the birds and the bench. enter the room from the left side, kill the 2 birds theough the floor, double jump higher to kill more birds through the floor, then fall and kill the birds on the bottom with vengeful spirit.
