I think if there is going to be a 60fps cap there should be a rule to show FPS on screen during the run if that hasn’t been added already, good change tho imo
The Evil Within 2 Rules
NG+ No Difficulty categories Any% NMS
- This run can use anything carried over from New Game, the run is timed by the IGT plug-in (No Load) found on livesplit for consistent accuracy, this currently only works on patch 1.02 so downpatch for it to work (found in Resources).
- No use of the Major Skips in the game are allowed such as using Flings/Out Of Bounds and Clipping, any use of these will make the run invalid.

These are the changes that are happening to make the categories more established and without arguments, I see no need for difficulties on the NG+ runs of the game as they are basically the same thing with infinite ammo and the magnum abuse and makes clutter on the boards.
NG should keep those difficulties as they effect the resources and how you plan out the run etc with them.
As for the glitchless category, this name always creates minor arguments about small glitches and people don't know what is or isn't intended. With the creation of "No Major Skips" currently being used on games like Dark Souls 3, it's alot easier to tell what isn't allowed in the run, things that skip sections of the game and save time obviously unintended such as flings/OOB's and clipping.
This way we have Any% NMS which invalidates anything such as Flings, out of bounds and clips that skip chapters/sections, and Any% which will allow anything as usual.
I have these rules written up as above and think they are fair any input would be appreciated.
Just going to use Dark's format to express my own opinions
[ Stream quality, content and features ]
- The stream quality was great for me when it was up and working.
- The Content was good and had a lot of variety and I didn't feel bored watching them.
- Moobot commands seemed to work really well. Just the things we needed and nothing more. ( I agree)
- The stream lagged alot during Ela's run so I don't know the issue there but if we know the cause, making sure that doesn't re-occur next time would be great.
- The resetting of the stream is probably unavoidable but it drops your viewership everytime that happens, so if that could be avoided that would be a + too.
[ Tech ]
- Really deserves a big plus for me. The way Dark-Aries and Darkfox stayed active during the majority of the marathon and helped everyone with any question or tech issue is just really impressive. Also Noobest had a big part in this even though he was not even officially tech, he was just in Discord most of the time of the event to help setting runners up. Zoton also made everything work with Speedcontrol in a very short time. This just shows the experience of these people in this event and was really the backbone that led this event to go smoothly on the back-end honestly and something we should definitely carry over to next year, if they are down ofcourse ? What this also shows is that alot of people did multiple roles during the event and that is all the more better.(I will just use this from dark as I totally agree, Noobest also is calming and helps with keeping everyone chill before their run in discord)
[ Scheduling ]
- The scheduling of what games went where and in what order was great in my opinion, having the relay at the end is most hype and there wasn't a time I was bored of long runs next to long runs.
- At some point during the event, we were ahead around 45 minutes of the schedule. The reason this was caused was probably because of the lack of time to properly review the runners estimates that have been put up. For next year, I think Scheduling will have alot more time to prepare these sorts of things and we can also review the estimates better. ( I agree completely with dark here, I think the estimates should be looked at more and runners should practice at least once to get a rough estimate of their submitted run)
- I think the incentives should be discussed more before the event as incentives for the relay race were done a few hours before and some input/brainstorming on what incentives could be done for the games would be great.
- I also think incentives to put a disadvantage to other teams on something like a relay race shouldn't be done, making both teams do the same thing was fun like in ds3 where me and horst had to both kill yhorm without stormruler.
[ Hosting ]
- Honestly, hosting during the event was really impressive. I think every Host nailed to set a professional tone and adjusted very quickly to the stream after a few hours. Not once did I felt like a Host got cut off by a runner or was not capable in general of reading the things he should have. (I agree with Dark)
- Next year: We should also not forget to promote the (russian) restreams more. (I agree with Dark)
[ Restreaming ]
- I can't really say alot about this which is probably good. I feel like the downtime for switching restreamers was very minimal. I think the information relayed by Tech landed very well and I don't think anyone really had big questions regarding this. (I guess I addressed this earlier but there is probably no work around the dropping of stream)
[ Design ]
- I think the end product of all the design came out really great. Making all the layouts was a time consuming task. Especially for being the first event, it was sometimes abit unclear about what should be put where which later added up on the time needed to make them. All by all, the layouts came out really clean and uncluttered and I felt like it really emphasized the souls theme we wanted to put out. Huge shoutout to TEOM for making a very clean logo for the t-shirts and Mette for the amazing panel designs. I think you guys made something great in such a short time.
- During intermission, I think we should have hosts discussing the upcoming runs and maybe some background on the upcoming runner.
[ Information and event promotion ]
- The promotion was a success in my opinion with a first year sponsor by Bandai Namco and front page exposure by twitch this is the best we could have hoped for and we got it.
- I think the fact you have to type !incentives in chat to see what challenges we can donate for wasn't too best organised, we could have them in a panel below the stream so it's easier to access and draw to that link by hosts pointing them out alongside the command,
- I think we should use reddit more to promote the start of the event the day before to make people aware it is going to start.
- I lastly think we should also make sure the link on speedsouls that said "click here for the schedule" actually went onto the schedule rather than the page "about"
Overall the event was a huge success and went a lot better than I expected and look forward to the small improvements we can make and think the community did a great job in such a short time to prepare.
ok cool, good to know thanks
why is this game split into different consoles/pc when the game is measured by IGT, wouldn't it be better as one category
aye prob will just do the extended version I guess, oh btw I checked your WR and have some improvements on decisions if you care, added ya on discord
It just auto downloads the DLC with it, probably not possible idk
I guess you can only run the Extended Edition if you download the game from PSN, and the Any% without Extended is the disc version?
@Tron_Javolta haven't seen anything from him in my DM's, still the games boards need revamping also so would be best if I could just mod it ''/
Hey could I get supermod of Dead Rising 2, just started running it and the old runners/mods are not replying on twitter and other places for over a month, and my time won't be accepted ResidentSleeper , plus the rules and categories are kind of a mess so would like to clean that up too
Hello, I would like to be a mod for Dark Soul 3 leaderboards, I have all the records for the game and would look to improve the rules etc and insert helpful guides.
