Ok I guess the best place to submit your high scores is Twin Galaxies, not here
Now that Apple and Android have built in screen recorders, Flappy Golf 2 is a really good speedgame. Certain holes have very precise IL strats.
Why is the current High Score world record considered legitimate? The link in the submission text is broken. Also as an aside, I have an objection to using photos as evidence for a run. Someone could easily photoshop a picture to make it look like they got a score higher than they did.
Ok good night. I'm busy right now. Will have to check it out later
Have you checked out Acethinker?
I don't like requiring music. It's too easy to edit in music. Acethinker Online Screen Recorder looks promising. You can even record the screen with a microphone. https://acethinker.com/free-screen-recorder
I don't want to ban those devices. Maybe we should make it necessary to record with a microphone for PC and Mac too. There should be ways to do that.
Yes, but those strips will only show up if there is some form of continuous audio (such as noise from the mic or music)
For all the runs on the leaderboards so far, I think all of them are legitimate. However, with the current rules, it is theoretically impossible to tell if a submitted run is a segmented run or a single-segment run.
This is why I'm suggesting the following rulechange for iOS and Android: If your video was recorded with the built-in screen recording feature on your device, the video must have sound, and you must have the microphone enabled. If your video was recorded with a camera, make sure the screen is reasonably visible.
This is because a video with a cut will have an obvious line on an audio spectrogram of its audio:
Video with obvious cut at around 6 secs:
Spectrogram:
Spectrogram (zoomed):
Videos that are true single-segment runs will not have a break in the spectrogram.
The reason the microphone must be on for this technique to work is because the game audio is non-continuous, whereas audio from the microphone always has some baseline noise level that shows up on the spectrogram
Game audio (without music) vs. mic audio:
Game audio (without music) vs. mic audio spectrogram:
Thoughts? And does anyone have any ideas for PC and Mac?
Ok I see you changed Rule 2. I'll have to retime everything
Oh... I've been starting timing when the buttons appear because of the first rule
- Time starts when you can move on level 1.
You CAN move on the first frame the buttons appear. However, I think we should change this to "Time starts on the first flap on hole 1."
And if we do change that, then I'll have to retime everything
If we don't start timing on the first flap, then how do I time this run? It starts after the level has loaded https://www.speedrun.com/run/zn8qk98z
Also I don't understand this rule for Any% Without Skips:
- If the first level has no moving parts then you are moving.
Ok. I'll get to them. Can we change the timing rule so that timing starts on the first flap instead of on the first frame you can move? It would be much easier to time runs this way.
Ok I added Radioactive's time. His run was on there as late as Sept. 21, 2017, according to his submission page as cached by Google
Oh ok then I think that's everyone, unless you remember a user named Radioactive (or WOLFyt) from Connecticut submit a Golf Land Any% w/o Skips 1:25 run
I got effkay's time too. I know there's one more run: Flappy Golf 2 - Golf Land: Complete Level in 1m 08s by ??? i took a look at the record run and thought, why aren't they rushing the holes? there are no specific rules stating you can't rush. trash tier quality because i don't ...
Does anyone remember who it is?
@MaximalMaxNL I remember seeing this run and the submission text, but I don't remember who it is. I can't find a "lonatan" user on speedrun.com. You commented on the Youtube video.
I think I'm only gonna frame count for runs that are sub 1 min or are particularly optimized, unless you want me to frame count everything
