It looks like Restricted is mostly trying to make players play more of the game, but does order of events really matter? Does it matter if players recalibrate Uranopolis Anomaly before fighting Nurgei?
I'm mostly wondering this because it's still any Any% category, which (imo) means allowing more rather than less even if it's restricted
Could it just be a list of bosses to beat, events to trigger (anomalies and cutscenes), and banned exploits? Eg.
- Kill the following bosses in their arenas Konrad, Nurgei, Wormlord, Belisarius, Yulia, and Abberant Knight (unless entered through Upper Blocks)
- Recalibrate both Anomalies
- Trigger the Machinarium abyss cutscene
- Banned: Using the Machinarium gated elevator before entering the abyss, glitches that teleport the player or mirage, glitches that levitate the player or cause them to slow fall, glitches that ignore killzones
If we had a glitchless run category, then the boss and event lists could use that
Overall, my thoughts are mostly that limiting the sequence order seems like overkill, and skips should be allowed as long as the bosses, anomalies, and cutscenes are dealt with by the end of the run
