I'd put my money on Crossbow. It has inherent piercing (which is usually a perk) and good damage on the entire spread (higher if you hit more than one bolt, which is easy), which makes it great at crowd control when the later levels are just enemy spam. Even if you miss your intended target, one of your bolts have a decent chance of hitting something else (and perhaps the thing behind it), so damage rarely goes to waste.
Add on top of that it's seemingly immune to perks that add extra recoil or spread for some reason, and from personal experience it seems to roll much higher on chance-based things like elemental effects (and the god tier perk Homing Shot), makes it the easy go-to for any serious runs.
Hey guys, just an update in case people still read this stuff.
As of today (10/30), I will be moving runs of Break the Targets that aren't on the currently latest version (4.2, as of writing) into the Misc category for that level. I don't plan on moving runs in any other category, as of yet.
Sorry if it gives you any notification spam. If you notice your run, which is on the current version, gets moved, please let me know. Thanks!
I'm down for removing records of old versions if others are. Is there a consistent way to tell from the replay alone which ones are from BC (or even 4.1?)
So, 4.1 has been out for about 2 days now. You can download it from the website on the sidebar. What's the status on Target Test times?
I'd have to agree, even if it means killing some really good times. There's some that might want to keep times for characters that remain virtually unchanged from 4.0BC -> 4.1, though without the changelog directly in front of me, I wouldn't know who would be changed so minutely that it meant you could keep 4.0BC runs. I personally would wait until we get the official 4.1 changelog to start picking which ones to keep if you go the 'keep runs for characters barely changed' route.
