I asked someone who knew a bit more about avp2, and this was their response:
"easiest is to install brew then install winethen launch via terminal anything you need to run wine avp2.exe
it SHOULD work with rosetta (if they are running a non intel Mac)

Thats why we have asked if people would join the discord so it is easier to discuss stuff like that. All the current runners have 0 interest in glitchless.
I do not consider quit outs a glitch though, basically just abusing the checkpoint system.
I have started working on TASing this game, it will be the first I have done.
I saw the post about jumping on water and saw it wasnt used so that got me interested.
Will keep you guys updated, if anyone is still around for this game lol.
So far I have a rough version of the first level using the water jumps to get to the end.
We have said multiple times if you want the category to do the run, so far no one has done the run, attempted to do the run or even TALKED about the run. No point in adding a category to the board that will stay empty.
Could you join the discord? A lot easier to discuss a run and strats and what not.

If you want to do glitchless runs then definitely do that. We hadn't made a category for it since there didn't seem to be much interest in it. One can definitely be added though!

Ending Reroute Glitch

With this new route, you can skip entering a couple levels by entering the last area, first. When you press the buttons in this last level to start the book closing cutscene, all of the previous books will be closed, which allows you to skip going to those levels. However, sometimes a single book will remain open (seen here ~1:00: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZgbGww4hE4). If this book remains open you can not finish the run without going through all of the levels again and pressing every single button, essentially ending the run as soon as you see that book open. From my own testing, the trick feels very random, I do not know why only one book remains open sometimes.
