I lost my phone and I got a mac could I just set it so the camera is facing my switch and record that way?

I am new to Speedrunning actually I have never speedrunned before and I think I need a cable to record it but I don't have a cable that plugs into my switch and pc at same time... I don't really wanna buy one either also do I need a timer if i do any easy to use ones for my situation
