Not me.
these corner deaths are so effing smooth, my jaw was dropping throughout the entirety of that
i wont do moderation, probably. but however, there's something about achievements that you guys probably don't know yet, so I'll set up the categories for you all, the rules as well.
It's a deleted category for level runs. Speedrun.com doesn't actually delete categories but instead archives them, so there's no way around it. Ignore its existence lol.
Trust me, it becomes so weird without it. If you really need it, you can do it yourself and the replay code will be presumably working as intended.
Interesting. Does annoy me sometimes as well when in a bad mood. I would say you can, since I can use the replay code anyways (and I don't think the particles effect disturbs that right? don't have a rich knowledge on that)
I'd say still no. The actual minimum apple number is probably scouted out already, but it's still tideous, notwithstanding its speedrunability. Leave it as a challenge first.
9/3/24 - 21'200'' to 21'300'' due to 2.2 cheese patch.
9/3/24 - 23'500'' to 23'600'' due to 2.2 cheese patch.
I, honestly, do not have the time nor the ability to care lol, so if you tag me then I'll respond, of course.
One thing tho, I also won't care about my run's status or anything lol, so... here's my recommendation - for moderators, you can time any% runs now by manually adding up all times in a completed standard run~ that would, I hope, make everyone happy that my crown that's undermined by controversies transferred to someone who deserves it better than me (aii), and also makes future timing more fair, in a way.
Oh and, yeah I don't care about that number one spot anymore after it's there. All I'm saying is if the truth is really so that they're faster... yeah.
Keep in mind - 12.96 isn't easily achieved either. It depends on how fast you go through the menu. Even if every individual level being fully optimised, if you don't go through the menu transitioning fast enough, it's still going to be slower than some runs.
With that stated, just another thing to help people get faster times - exterior autoclickers could slow this down due to lag, it's best to either do it manually or package it.
And if the timer, for some reason, livesplits isn't trustworthy, the weirdest proving method is by 'timing the timer'. With that said, we all need to acknowledge that livesplits timing method is janky and has two modes - in-game and real-time, which is also what happens to be a speedrun.com selection thing. That's another thing, hope this helps (and maybe helps future speedrunners achieve faster times)
Again, cheese is diffferent from shortcut.
L5 in Appel, it doesn't make it easier to beat with sidejumping, only makes it faster.
The purpose for L17 is to challenge skilled players, if it's 'beaten' with the cheese... it makes the challenge way easier.
And yes, I will update the game very very soon in the coming week or two to fix it, along with 2.2.
Completely understand, and not like I haven't thought about it. As a game developer and leaderboard manager, I'm just trying to beautify all levels and make them display in their best form, and the act of deliberately leaving the 'cheesable' level on the platform, even separately from what I would've wanted to show in the first place, just goes against myself. As of today, no one else did Key To Success in the way I wanted, as such unintended cheese goes along.
For Radiation, Sir_Farcelot has discovered huge shortcuts,, I'm most in awe, but it managed to get through the verification with ease. The reason is really just because those shortcuts aren't 'cheese' but 'speedrunning strategies'. Those are without a doubt unintended, but also not anything that can be accomplished to skip through sections of the intended paths. The same goes for the consecutive sidejumpings in Collapsing - It's inconsistent, it's harder to pull off, and the original pathway is not hard in any shape or form, and the reason people do that is simply that it saves time. Stuff like this allows for speedrunning, and that's honestly what I would love to discover by this leaderboard.
Cheesing is another thing. When you go through an entire level even without the key I wanted you to have, I just wanted that not to happen - ever wondered if all these could arise if this issue never arises in the first place...
At the end of the day, as a creator myself, keeping two of the same levels, one of which is just not what the difficulty scaling intended and deliberately kept just for speedrunning, and the other of which is just left theie, isolated because of the general lack of skill. That's not what I wanted to see.
As contradicting as this could be, and perhaps I should value player enjoyment over the actuality of my 'personal' intentions as a small content creator, I don't think everything I do should revolve around viewer experience because of such low status of the general speedrunning community doesn't do things like this.
Do not worry, the levels wouldn't just get harder and harder, making the speedrunning community non-expandable. Hang in there for some time, I'll make sure this podium gets the attraction it could've gotten.
