This needs to be in GDQ someday. I've always wanted to see a Battletanx run. I was never good at the game but I loved the music.
I'm interested in starting a new Speedrun.com page for a game that I have begun to do speedruns on and has no recognized speeduns currently, but I don't know how to create one. Can someone direct me to information that would allow me to do that?
Phil actually had a Discord with a few of us but it's been inactive for a year
Good on you for trying to qualify for the Fleet Fatales marathon, Shino Inari. I have done a couple of runs for GDQ's Hotfix show including the day before this year's SGDQ for Tina's RPG Show. Hope you qualify and if you do, if they allow male commentators, I will offer to join you in that regard.
Over the last couple of months, having verified many runs, it has become clear that we have a great situation here where we have 2 pairs of runners lowering the Co-Op Unsync WRs. So I would like to propose to Phil, LunaMile, Misdreavus and Inani if they would be interested in showing off their Co-Op skills in a 2v2 race for Games Done Quick. They have a recurring series called Community Spotlight, where they have various runs performed by the best runners for their respective games and it would be cool to see something like this take place.
I did a Solo run for their Hotfix series last month, . So I do have a contact within GDQ. If all 4 of the suggested runners would be interested, I will get in touch with my contact to see if this is something we could get featured. So Phil, Luna, Misdreavus and Inani, let me know if this is a good idea and I will get in touch with my contact.
Something else that I am trying to get included is main story gameplay, but to a certain point. Next month, I will be playing in an online speedrun marathon where my goal is to unlock the Airship and complete the quest associated with it. Another run I have experimented with is to unlock Rogue as fast as possible. These were inspired by seeing other speedrunners play FF4 to where they turn Cecil into a Paladin and FF6 where they defeat Kefka in the battle in Narshe. Hopefully, these inspirations turn into actual categories, but it depends on what Deln will want.
I can why you would suggest this but it seems that the overwhelming majority of runners prefer doing solo runs of the dungeons and trials. It's not that the Synced runs aren't competitive, it's just that no one is doing them.
I had wanted to discuss this with Deln before the new Praetorium WR was verified but as the video showed, they continuously logged out and in of the game in order to skip the Cutscenes in the Praetorium. Have we decided that this is allowed or is it cheating?
Hello there. I just discovered information about your marathon and noticed that today was the deadline for submissions but it appears that the cut off has already occurred?
The only way to gain an advantage in PotD is by making your weapon and armour stronger. Also the EXP system is different in PotD as opposed to the main game.
Gear is a factor because it also depends on what you play as because naturally, some classes can do more damage than others, even with equal item levels.
You are right on the solo dungeon runners going in without their levels being synced. They are also at Level 70 so you have some grinding to do.
I noticed that The Burn and Saint Mocianne Hard are not yet on the Leaderboard. Can they be added please?
Oh, the skip book. Well there could be people as well who want to run through using too and that could be its own category, starting from Level 60. It shows that there is a lot of potential and a lot of variation for running Any%..
I could see this is a viable Any% category. It would be important to keep in mind though that since everyone as far as we can tell, who are speedrunning this game have Stormblood, the Ala Mhigan earrings are a bonus for buying the game and people would be inclined to want to use them. I did suggest earlier in the thread that there should be options for variations of running Any % in the game. What you are setting as a series of rules could be the default Any % category. What I ran in my previous Any % runs with the use of the bonus equipment, could be its own category. Many games have variations of Any % speed runs so it would be important for anyone who is interested in doing so that they have an option for the style that they want to run.
What about the Brand New Ring from the Hall of the Novice? It is something that the game encourages you to get because the quest line requires you to at the very least visit the Hall.
As well, getting into an FC that gives the Heat of Battle EXP buff also gives 10% more EXP as well as any food you eat is an additional 3% when consumed.
But do you speak for the other admins? Do they agree with you?
I get what you are saying but these are things that the developers give you. They aren't glitches or cheat codes or anything like that.
But on the other hand, there are other games that offer Any % speedruns with few or no advantages as a separate category. Perhaps that could be an option to have an Any % category like what I have done without restrictions on buffs and a separate category where runs could be done without any buffs or equipment that gives them.
