Hey everyone. On the leaderboard for 70 star I see that most of the top runs are done on the usa version of the game. But for the other categories they're on the japanese version. I think I've heard the answer before. But is using the us version of mario 64 faster in 70 star than the japanese version?

Hello, I've been looking at the leaderboards lately, and I've got a category request/suggestion.

Arcade Any%: The games included would be the following arcade games: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Donkey Kong 3, Mario Bros. and VS Super Mario Bros. Playing on nes, vc and emu is allowed, as long as the ports you are using are accurate. Here is how long you would be playing the games for:

Donkey Kong: 1 loop (https://www.speedrun.com/Donkey_Kong)

Donkey Kong Jr: 1 game (https://www.speedrun.com/dkjr)

Donkey Kong 3: Any% Game A (https://www.speedrun.com/Donkey_Kong_3)

Vs. Super Mario Bros.: Any% (https://www.speedrun.com/vs_super_mario_bros)

Hello, I've been looking to see if playing a us snes cartridge would work on a sfc. And I heard that if you took the gray cover off of the sfc, then us games would be able to fit (somehow). So here are some questions.

1. Is it possible that if the gray cover of the sfc is taken off, then would it be possible to play snes games on it?

2. If the answer is yes to #1, if I try to take the cover off (even though I've been struggling to), would I damage my console in any way?

3. If the answer is no to #3 and I somehow do get the cover off AND a snes game is possible to play on sfc, then is it allowed to play smas+smw on sfc?

Hello everyone, I decided to retire from speedrunning bus driver, this means my runs will be deleted as well. Which also means that @EmeraldTheFurball will hold all the world records. I will still moderate and verify runs, but I will delete most of my runs and only run retro Nintendo games. I loved running but I don't like having all these runs on my account. So this is it. Hello, I got the everdrive n8 a few days back, but I'm having trouble making it work.

I am using a sandisk 8gb card, and it's formatted to FAT32. I have 2 folders on it. The EDFC folder, and a folder for my roms, I only have 3 roms on the card. The roms are each a nes file. And it still doesn't work. I've heard sandisk cards don't work well with an everdrive, so maybe I need a different card.

When I put the everdrive in the console and power my nes on, my screen flashes green, and at some points (before I got edfc folder and only roms), it said there was an error code. So the everdrive is both working and not working is the only way I can put it. But any tips for my need would be helpful. Thanks! :)

Hello, I've been playing Predator today, and I realized that if I precisely press left + right, I'll warp to the next level. Could this be a new category or if not would this be aloud for the "Beat The Game" category?

I think it would be REALLY cool if there were categories where you could play as Luigi. Or if I'm just being stupid & you can play as either Mario or Luigi. But it doesn't really say in the rules whether you can play as only Mario, or both so I don't know.

Earlier today I was making my Any% TAS when I was trying to do the 8-4 pipe clip. While failing to clip to the pipe where everyone does it, I found out that if you go to the top left corner of the gray bricks on the bottom of the pipe you can jump off those and make it to the top of the pipe.

Go to 4:40 on this link to see the clip. I don't know if this is something new or has been used for a while now but may be easier to get the clip. "BUT this was from a TAS that I made so it COULD be impossible, but I doubt it. I'll have to see if it's possible for a human.

I think it would be cool if one of the Super Mods added 32 Level Leaderboards for each track in the game. This isn't something that HAS to happen, but it's just something that would make MKWII more fun to speedrun.

This is just a theory. I wonder if you can manipulate the timing for the bullet bill at the end of 8-2 so instead of waiting at the bottom stairs, the bullet bill is already storming towards the bottom of the flagpole. That way you can just jump up the stairs, land on the bullet bill on the correct pixel, and perform the glitch instead of waiting 2 - 3 seconds for the bill.

Hi. I'm looking at speedrunning 70 Star nonstop, and I typed the Japanese gameshark codes (correctly) into my sm64 file on my gameshark. I typed both nonstop codes for the Japanese version & the intro skip Japanese codes, and the result? Nothing happened, I had clicked on "Played game with selected codes" and with all 3 codes on, nothing. Now I seek help to see what I'm doing wrong. Maybe it's because I play on a North American GameShark cartridge with a Japanese sm64 cart. I don't know.

@EmeraldTheFurball & @j_hoodhere please make sure that if you plan to edit something about the game please discuss what you want to change w/ me. The only things that will NOT be changed are the categories & their rules. Whether if it is banning someone or making a CE game for Bus Driver, please just contact me about it. If I do not approve it then the change will not happen.

Hello, a few months ago I submitted a few SM64 BOB runs, and they were all rejected only because it was not on the original Nintendo 64. So, here is my question. Why is VC & Emu not allowed for those categories? Is it because VC & Emu are inaccurate? If not, then I think the rules should be changed for the consoles allowed.

I'm wondering whether framerules exist in The Lost Levels. No matter how I play 1-1, I never have to wait 0.35 seconds more to get to the next level.

The requirements for being a moderator are:

• The user must not have more than 3 rejected runs for this game.

• The user must have at least 5 runs for the game.

• They must know the difference between TAS and legit speedruns.

• They must not reject runs for the fun of it.

All speedrunners who intend to become moderators for this game are NOT going to be Super Mods except I who requested this game.

Hello, I just want to know why speedrunners don't use glitches in the All Stars verison of SMB1. I've seen people so the flagpole glitch before. Are glitches more difficult to do on SNES than NES?
